Why would it be bad if Turkey joins in?
Fine, let them deal with the crazies.

I don't believe that Turkey will invade Iraq. It's not good for them as an ally of US. And i don't believe that they want to hurt any innocent Kurdish people in North Iraq. Also Kurds and Turks are not enemies, actually they love each other, the real enemies of both of them are PKK terrorists. Turkish government just wants to fight aganist "terrorists" not Iraq or not Kurdish people. PKK killed millions of innocent Turkish people for years. They have no mercy, they only think a genocide way of killing. They raided schools, cafes just to kill innocent ones.

Terrorists want a big part of Turkey and they want every Kurds and terrorists to spring from all prisons in Turkey. So they want impossible things and it seems that this war will never end up.

Because it places our troops and the flow of supplies in extreme harm. There is already a group of Kurds in between on Turkey soil. The Kurds just opened 5 closed borders allowing Iranians back through into Iraq. SO we have a much like a growing weather system a circle that could become a storm or dissipate. Almost depending on the wind. Turkey is no stranger to the use of force to propel their cause. And genocide is what this whole thing is about, language and so forth. Atrocities of war and they are capable.

It is no good for our ground forces. Nor for diplomacy that is starting to grab hold in Iraq. The sheiks in the Northern regions have been working with the US. Already a major one was killed. Once again these people will also be in the middle as collateral damage.

It also shows the Us as a weak player and perhaps the domino's may fall beyond expectations. The tensions in these areas are so tight anything is bound to happen. Just read about Sect'y Rice & Gates visits. Not going well at all. Thanks.

*also , keep in mind like so many of these groups there are the two sides, a peaceful one and extremist. Hard to tell the difference when you are engaged. Big problem American's face every day in the area.

Why would it be bad? Well, Iraq is a mess and the Kurdistan region is probably the most peaceful. The Kurds could be considered our allies, when we talk of Saddam's awful genocide, it was primarily directed at the Kurds. Now Turkey wants to attack a population that is mostly peaceful, save a few rebels that keep picking at Turkey (which Turkey should have a right to do something about). I'm just worried they'll go after the Kurds and create another genocide. The Kurds are not well liked at all in the Middle East, someone's got to stick up for the little guy.

That is not the real reason my friend. American government has a policy supporting some terrorist by calling them ''freedom fighters''. during the cold war period, USA empowered EL ,Qaide; bin laden was 1 of the man of CIA and then they turned the barrels on usa.
During the invasion of iraq, USA has gotten benefits from kurds and has given them promises of free kurdistan whose real aim is to target east provinces of Turkey. (Imagine that native people wants alabama and colorada to establish their own country lol, same thing)..

USA has no change rather than letting Turkey to invade iraq but a war is not that easiy. Turkey has to keep its relations close with other country as it eliminates the PKK gerillas in Nort iraq.

The Kurdish area is the only area that HASN'T been in a state of war.

The Kurds have never had a homeland, and have been maltreated in every country they live in -- until they got their area of Iraq.

They aren't crazies; they'd like a chance to live their lives. Anyone who feels that's wrong is both crazy and sick.

When the Europeans arbitrarily and insanely carved up the middle east, the Kurds got nothing.

Now you want them murdered for trying to build decent lives for themselves.

Human beings don't think that mass murder is a good thing. I gather you are incapable of grasping this concept.

The area they would invade (Kurdistan) is the most peacefull area of Iraq. We want MORE peacefull areas of Iraq, not fewer.
