Because the Republicans support "families" and they define families as having an adult male in them, so they get more votes from married and less from unmarried women. It should be noted that Republicans no longer get the majority of single males because they are not a family either.

Everyone's reasons are different, As a married woman I voted for Bush because I am trying to raise a family in the REAL world. I will vote this time to keep "people" from "stealing" from my family that I have worked so hard to take care of in the up coming election.

Have you ever read about someone who has accidentally encountered a mother bear? She will do ANYTHING to protect her family. I have a hunch that many married women are very much like mother bears. They will not put up with the stupidity of big government trying to tax & regulate their way into our culture which affects the family. Family values are very strong. Married women know what it takes to be committed to someone else for the long haul. Short-lived "liberal spin" doesn't make it.

How deceived they must feel!
Their 'knight in shining armour' (more like 'monkey in cowboy boots and shirtsleeves') ended up stealing the family silver to pay for an occupation.
This time around most married women, (those who have learnt their lessons, anyway) will vote for one of their own.
Go Hillary!

Well,I had always read that it was the wholesome soccer moms(surely 99.8% were married) who threw the election to Clinton, twice.
Obviously there is something wrong with your premise (well, your leading ¨question¨) that suggests that there is some correlation between married women and voting for the Republican party.

Married women in America are among the most industrious people in the world.
They are: a spouse, money mangers, home makers, mothers, career people, volunteers. They personally experience nearly every key element of the nervous system that drives this country.
They are in no mood to turn these functions over to the government.
They don't want to go through all the trouble of being fiscally, morally and emotionally responsible only to have to pay the government to do it for people who are not.

No. The "security moms" voted for Bush because he convinced them that he was the only one who could keep al Qaeda from invading American neighborhoods, burning homes and raping their children and pets. In other words, W scared the s&*# out of them.

Most married women doesn't include me. I didn't vote him either time. I was smart enough to realize he wasn't going to do anything good for this country.

Because they have children and apparently fell for the fiction that Bush was going to keep their children safe from terrorists. (As opposed to turning Iraq into a factory for manufacturing new terrorists, as he has done.)
