It seems like citizens have no recourse and cops always go free.

I ask this question because a lot of law abiding citizens are being threatened, framed, assaulted or killed while being detained and arrested by the police?

If the Cons could be medicated for their FEAR, maybe the government will stop eating away at the Constitution.

My roommate is my best friend. I've known him for years. But I recently discovered what I think are images on his comupter of children who are standing there naked. There were 4 images and they look like nudist photos. I didn't see any videos. I don't know what to do. Should I talk to him? Should I suggest I move out? I'm not going to turn him in, this is my childhood friend. What should I do?

Looking for answers that explain why you think a certain candidate will win the nomination, not who you personally like or dislike. Example I like Fred T. but I think John McCain will emerge as the front runner.

I can't help but notice that since funding the war in Iraq (now at ($600,000,000,000.00), that there are more and more pleas to American citizens to provide donations to many causes that I believe we already pay taxes to fund. Examples: natural disaters, the fight on poverty, cancer and other health needs. Since studying how many TIMES a dollar we earn is actually taxed, I believe we have the responsibility to request more be done in the areas of tragedies, medical research, health care and the war on poverty here in America. I am interested in other views on this topic. I already vote and sign petitions. How else can we make our voices heard? Do people out there see the issues I mention?

three teens damaged personal property and the total amount of the damaged is divided equally between all three teens. Two of the three are going to detention homes leaving the third out on probation. The third wanted to pay his total amount of restitution but the court informed him that if he did he would then have to pay the restitution for the other two boys....They explained it would become a civil suit...can someone explain that to me? Why if one child paid his share can he made to pay the others share?

People who support the "Patriot" act are those who live in fear of another 9/11. They think that removing their freedoms (Yes, the 4th amendment is VERY important to our freedoms and it has been done away with via the "Patriot" act) will protect them from attacks. But this very act will bring down our freedoms totally.

I have recently posted disturbing questions on YA about the Freedom of Speech being quieted. People are actually trying to DEFEND the government doing this!?! Do you see anything wrong with this picture?
And before any of you try to say I am not an American..or what ever...I SERVED in the military active duty for 4 years, so I know what it means not to have those freedoms.

What pride is there in the USA when you live in FEAR from what may happen from terrorists? Supporting the "Patriot" act and letting the removal of our freedoms are acts of fear.

Take precautions, but do so WITHIN the Constitution!

It seems to me that no matter what the U.S. does, it always produces a negative backlash even amongst out own allies at times.

If America has a specific foreign policy, it creates anti-Americansim, or if the U.S. goes to war for whatever reason, regardless of the situation or cirumstances, it creates anti-Americanism.

Can someone please explain?

The state says that by doing so would improve morality in the state. I say it's none of their business and personally know of several wives that use these devices, because they have husbands that travel during the week and therefore promotes abstention from extramarital affairs.

What are your thoughts?

I am an Asian, 28 years old. Couldn't decide if USMC is good for me or not. USMC Recruiter told I can only join as E-2 though I hold a masters in IT and professional work experience as IT-Programmer. Army and Navy offered me E-4/E-3 with bonuses. I certainly want to serve the nation , get citizenship and see myself as an officer in whatever the branch I do. I am skinny but never did Jim/workout/running... always work on Computers mostly.
My Questions:
1. Will I be able to finish the boot camp in USMC at 28?
2. Should I look more into Army/navy?
3. Do I have to start at E-2? in USMC?
Please help me to decide a right path . I am not married nor have any children. Would love to soon.

This morning I was over my parents house for breakfast (I'm staying with my mother and father in law). Since my husband is on an extended absence for his entry level Infantry Training (41/2 months to go sigh!) many father and two grandfathers can speak of nothing except their military experiences. One grandfather was drafted and served in Vietnam in combat. The other grandfather was a draft dodger (he was a war protester and "hippie" lol lol but still has "anti military experiences" to share lol lol). My father was a veteran of the Marine Corp, serving 6 years before he finished his enlistment. Anyway none of them were married when they served so I'm not sure how they know what they told me. They say that military wives are informally ranked. So an enlisted soldier's wife must show the proper respect to a sergeant's wife or officer's wife. Also they can only be friends with wives of similar status to them because of military regulations. I don't think this can be true, is it?

Last night i was hanging out with a couple of my friends outside our appartments. When three undercover cops rolled up. Nobody was currently drinking nor were any beer cans visible. But 2 of them had backpacks on with beer inside. the police decided that they could look inside my friends backpacks with out consent. i didnt think they wuld have any reason to search. nobody was drunk or being loud. Can the police really do this?

I wasn't drinking and proved this when i blew a .00 but I feel for my friends that had drinks in their backpacks. i know underage drinking is wrong but what the cops did didn't seem right.

ps. please no fith degree about it being wrong. I already know.
