We were just served lawsuit paperwork stating that an excavating company didn't get paid $114000 when all the homes in our development were being built. This occurred before we purchased the home. They are requesting to be paid this amount and a mechanic's lien to be placed on all of the properties.

We purchased title insurance at closing. Will this protect us from this mess? Can a mechanic's lien still be placed on our home with title insurance? We are so worried that we will have to come up with this money for nothing that we had done.

Has he lost his nerve because of his Iraq debacle? There has been clear evidence now for months that Iran is supporting the insurgents in Iraq especially with IEDs that have killed more US troops than anything else during the Iraq war.

Ok this is going to sound unbelievable, but my neighbor's butchered chickens in their backyard yesterday. And before you ask, I do not live in a rural area, I live in Alexandria VA in a very expensive residential townhouse community. The people in question recently moved into a duplex that borders our community. I called the police and they said they can't keep chickens but there is no law against butchering them. However if I can catch them next time with the live chickens right before they kill them, then call and they will come out. But after they are dead, no crime. Come ON! This can't be right. Next can they start bringing in cattle and pigs and start processing them? Does anyone have any idea where I can start lodging complaints? This is unreal and I am totally freaked out about it.

They don't recognise the state in which they live and work ( SR Serbia):
- refusal to serve in the army
- non-participation in the elections
- non-payment of all state taxes and duties
- the establishment of "parallel schools", exclusively for the members of the Albanian national minority

It represents a violation of the provision 37 of the Final Document of the 2nd Meeting of the Conference on Human Dimension of the OSCE (Copenhagen, 1990), and of the Para.9 of the Preamble, of the articles 20 and 21 of the Framework Convention of the Council of Europe on the Protection of National Minorities.

At the same time, the Albanian minority uses all the benefits given by the state and the system they do not recognize, but which are suitable for them:

- health insurance
- employments in public and private sectors
- all rights in the field of information
- passports
- vaccination of the population, etc.

I received a message from eBay Central that the government is lobbying to require all eBay Store sellers to have Auctioneer Licenses, and that one eBay store owner went bankrupt fighting this in court. eBay is very slow right now, there's really not much to be found.

Americans are forced to suffer at the hands of the American Government, while it's the first one there to "Save" any other country. Why is that?

Though I am a conservative, I like to listen to both sides but haven't been able to find an outlet on the left that compares. I listened to Air America when it first started but it just didn't keep my attention primarily because the depth of analysis was lacking. Someone who digs into the core of issues and has ideas that take history into account. . .

i read many q&a's about social programs that seem racially biased, without saying it. they seem to tapdance around mentioning color.

i read that when lbj enacted his social programs, there was a mass exodus of poor whites from the democratic party to the republican party. for the life of me, i cannot see anyone in the lower economic classes choosing the republicans as the more benevolent of the two.

i also feel that america is still quite racially biased. if michael vick was bret favre, would there have been such an uproar? if barry bonds was white, would there have been such a problem with the record being righteous. i wonder. and this jena 6 thing......

Yet they have no problem asking people to vote for them because of their position on the war.
