Everyone have the right, but not everyone will be respected for speaking their thoughts. If you feel strongly about something and believe wholeheartedly in what you are saying and you are not afraid of being the least popular person, than you will somehow, find the strength within you to not let "mental harassers" bother you or change the way you think. Of course, there is nothing wrong with keeping an open mind...

Everybody has the right to free speech, endowed by our Creator. Exercising that right can get you killed in a lot of the world. Also, griping about "mental harassment" is just a way of saying you can dish it out but you can't take it, so you should be careful about that one.

The framers of our US Constitution believed that free speech was an inalienable right of humans, that is, untouchable or un changeable, by any man or government.
Other governments do not allow thier people to speak freely, like China or Venezuala. They are socialist or communist countries.
In America, we live in a republic, (not a democracy), that allows the voice of the smallest minority, the individual, to be heard.
That is changing quickly as socialism is taking our good nation from us.
The only way to maintain the right of free speech is to use it.
You may have rights as outlined in the constitution and bill of rights but if they are not exercised, they do not exist now. And may not in the future.
Use it or lose it!
