At my work they have implemented a new rule stating that if anyone has any unresolved bills at the end of their shift that these are your responsibility to take care of. We've never had a huge problem with this, it's just that a couple weeks ago a table left with a $130 bill and now that waitress is supposed to pay for it. They simply forgot to fill out their sheet. I work in a resort restaurant so people can simply write down their room number, tip, sign and then leave. In my opinion, we cannot control what people do. We tell them that if they are room charging that we will need to see their card but even then people just write it down and leave. Are there any laws on this that I can bring to my employer's attention? I think it is completely unfair when we are working for them and making them sooo much more money than we ever bring in. Thanks so much for your help!

Have these Christians been seduced by the world?

Although all U.S. based horse slaughterhouses have been shut down, thousands of American horses are still shipped across our borders into Mexico and Canada where they are inhumanely butchered and sold for human consumption abroad. But it is not enough—we must ensure that horse slaughter is prohibited in every state in America. Now America's horses are being beaten and dragged across the border into Mexico and Canada so that they can be inhumanely slaughtered for food. I will continue to fight in Congress to end this brutal practice and ensure that American horses will no longer be savagely slaughtered for human consumption."

I am very interested in Dennis Kocinich for Dem nomination for president. He is very anti large corporation control of this country. He is a congressman from Oh. who used to be mayor of Cleveland. While mayor large corporate interests tried to take over the public utility. He fought the takeover and won, but in the process banks and corporate interests drove him out of office. He then became a congressman. I agree with all of his views, his platform does not seem to be controlled by big money, corporate interest like most of the others. His health care plan call for not for profit medical care, which is I think the only way we will get quality health care for everyone. He does not get media attention, and we all complain that the media picks the candidates. Go to dennis4president.com and check him out, this guy is what we need.

"LOS ANGELES – More than 1,300 illegal immigrants in five Southern California counties were arrested in the past two weeks during one of the nation's largest immigration sweeps, federal officials said yesterday.

“In this operation, we located some very dangerous aliens, including those involved in street gangs, as well as those with various criminal records that include drug trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault,” Myers said.

Roughly 90 percent of the immigrants taken into custody had criminal records, re-entered the United States illegally or resisted deportation orders, she said. About 600 have been deported in the operation that began Sept. 19.

More than 500 alleged immigration violators were at large and taken into custody in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, officials said.

I had an accident on the job. I am a disabled person and I was doing a task that is not one of the major responsibilities listed on my job description. I think they should make an accommodation due to my disability. Also, they are saying I am a risk to others if they continue to employ me. I am not the only person with a disability at our place of employment. I think their argument is based on ignorance and fear and am prepared to take legal action if they do fire me. What do you think? Can they fire me or not?

I'm doing a report and i need to know what duties these guys had. I've already done some research myself and all i can find is this:

"Legatus Legionis: The overall Legionary commander. This post was generally appointed by the emperor, was a former Tribune and held command for 3 or 4 years, although could serve for a much longer period. In a province with only one legion, the Legatus was also the provincial governor and in provinces with multiple legions, each legion has a Legatus and the provincial governor has overall command of them all."

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Religious fundamentalists are united by fear. Whether they are Christian, Muslim, or Jew, fear is the common denominator. They fear change, modernization and loss of influence. They fear that the young will abandon the churches, mosques and synagogues for physical and material gratification. They fear the influence of mass media and its ability to subvert the young with song, dance, fashion, alcohol, drugs, sex and freedom. They especially fear education if it undermines the teachings of their religion. They fear a future they can’t control, or even comprehend.

Perhaps it’s not surprising to realize that it is fear that also connects the myriad of nationalist, separatist and independence movements who also engage in political violence. Although experts, academics and analysts hypothesize about a multitude of causal effects that lead to violence and terrorism, fear is the underlying.

I live on the border of two towns (the town line actually runs right through the middle of my home). I pay 50% of my taxes to one town..and 50% to the other. Last week we had a fire in the kitchen. Called 911...they connected me with town 1. Town 1 claims not their juristiction...told me to call town 2. Called town 2...they told me not their juristiction as well...and to call town 1.

All of this went on for about 30 minutes until I finally got one of the towns to show up...meanwhile my kitchen is burning down. Lost most of my kitchen and am considering suiing or at least letting my homeowners insurance know of the events. Any opinions?
