What about the "Curse of Gracie Mansion"? No mayor of the City of New York, conservative, liberal, or centrist, has ever gone on to higher office.

I am a socialist and dislike both "Democrats" and "Republicans" – this question is about electability, not political positions. From a "horse race" point of view, not political views, can he win?

Jacob, I really didn't want to get into that, but the short answer is, the "Democrats" are just another big-business party that wants to head off threats to capitalism by making a few minor changes. But this is the last time I will address this in this question -- this is STRICTLY a "horse-race" question. Please stay on topic.

gd2cook and stirker, can’t you READ? I am not interested in your rants. You are entitled to your opinions, but that is not the purpose of this question -- I am asking for folks to handicap this man’s chances of becoming president. Are you unable to do this?

His daughter doesnt trust him, and if the NewYorkers dont like him it is obvious there is something very bad. The Christian vote will kill him too...But to answer your question you asked, NO because to win the electorate, he needs some states in the west....Florida, and Ohio, if he doesnt carry all those states he loses, he may get Florida, but Ohio he trails Hillary, and also Hillary will pick up Iowa, Arkansas, and New Mexico....giving her the victory in case a hypothetical loss in Florida and Ohio, which wont happen.... And the people above just wrote yes, but fail to provide any facts to support your question...my facts are 10 or more polls on average where he is not in the lead.

Only if the Democrats were struck by the Lord God to Only tell the truth! Some Republicans are full of it as well. My Oregon Senator hops the fence when he smells a vote.
Until Christ comes back; politics will Always be full of bull and backroom schemes. Evidence for the trustworthiness of Congress comes to mind when they Raided the Social Security funds to use them for other than our oldest folks care!
The Bible tells often of secret combinations, look in the backbiting crap out of Washington.
The algae bloom that killed the Potomac River fish were caused bu Rain. It came and washed all the bull into the river. This caused the algae to grow and bloom. This caused the oxygen to lower to bad levels and the fish smothered to death.
The New York mayor has no chance if he is honest.
Get back to His ways, or this nation will die! Look in the Old Testament for all those nations that were destroyed for turning away from Him. Ever wonder where all those Senators would be if their mothers had aborted?

No never

His record from 9/11 is blotched
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17869046/
-Ask the firefighters families that blame Giuliani for over 300 deaths

-He only spend 29 hours at ground zero, when he lied and said he spend the same amount of time as the workers who ARE NOW SICK!! In fact he spend more time at Yankee stadium then he did at ground zero..

-source ABC

-A pro-war candidate is simply unelectable, he is pushing the same Bush agenda, after so many years ever die-hard republicans have changed their minds

-He wouldn't sign a pledge confirming he'd lower taxes or at least make no new ones, so expect higher taxes with him

-He was quoted as saying "illegal immigration is not a crime" that should loose some votes, considering the possibility of open borders where we loose our jobs and there is a wage depression

-His own children hate him, he's been married three times, his daughter plans to vote for someone else.. that should loose people who vote on family values (on a personal level I don't care, but I know some do)

He will NEVER win!!

Yes... in spite of the "Curse" (which I don't believe in any case)... Teddy Roosevelt was a police commissioner in NY City (among other things).. but on policy positions, likability, and leadership he has an excellent chance of winning the general election. And he's not a Socialist which is his biggest plus.
Vote Hillary if you want socialism.... Despite your disclaimer the Democrat Party of today is as close to socialism one can get.

I'm going to give you an answer based on the game of politics, because Giuliani is not my first pick. The simple fact is, if Hillary gets the nomination, and there is every indication she will, Giuliani is the only republican in the field that has a prayer at beating her.

God I hope not....He was behind the 9/11 attaks along with Bush. Do we really need another dictator in the White House who likes to kill Americans to keep us living in fear?

Only if the nation wants a morally bankrupt president and a bimbo as first lady

No.
That "sanctuary city foe illegals" will sink his campaign.
Ninety five % of Americans are against that type of stuff.
I think Romney or Paul will get the nomination.

Anyone can theoretically win but he is a sort of a long shot.
