How much do we pay him and also how much do other senior peole earn i.e. home secretary, the queen etc (feel free to add people to this list. Also do they earn too much like my plumber

As chancellor he earned £130k apparently so i assume is more than that but i suppose as chancellor you can pay yourself anything you want really

I think the PM gets about £120K per annum and Cabinet Ministers about £90K. MPs get about £70K but it doesn't stop there.
Their allowance outweigh all that, they get allowances for housing in London, Secretaries, Researchers all of whom are invariably family, wives, sons and daughters and the like.
Take into account they get 3 months holiday per annum and are flying to exotic countries on supposed "fact finding trips". all in all, a grand life.
They can be classed as very well off. I would think that if you were to add it all up, an MP would be around £150K

I'm not sure if this is the same, but I once heard that George 'Dubya' Bush earns $400,000 per year, so I'm guessing that Gordon Brown earns about £200,000 per year - it's definitely not only £40k-£50 per year - he's running the COUNTRY!
