George Soros is a jewish holocaust survivor (and a naturalized US CITIZEN) who fought against real nazis and communists growing up in East Europe.

Why do cons fear/hate him so much besides the fact he's against today's Republican Party?

If you're talking about money, the right also has its billionaire financiers. Example: spoiled brat Richard Mellon Scaife

I don't want to read through a huge document though, I just want simple, clear and accurate information. Specifically, I'd like to know about when music falls out of copyright and becomes public domain - is it 50 years like the UK?

A friend of my mom's loaned me or gave me money to help me out of a situation about 1 year ago. Since then my mom broke up with him and now he is demanding his money back. However, there was nothing put in writing, no terms or time to pay it back and he has no record of how much he even gave me because it was all given in cash. Could he successfully sue me for what he thinks I owe him?

"Article 11. As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion, - as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslims], - and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan [Muslim] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interuption of the harmony existing between the two countries." The treaty was passed unanimously in the Senate after being read aloud. HOW then can Christians STILL insist that this is a "Christian Nation" when even early Founders like George Washington (who began the negotiations) and John Adams (under whom it was signed) agreed with the language of the above Treaty?!? WHY was there no uproar from Congress over the "Unchristian" tone of the Treaty - unless they knew FULL WELL that the United States was NOT founded on Christianity???

"Nuclear War cannot be won and hence must never be fought”

- Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev -

The end of the Cold War spurred significant and encouraging steps toward the abolition and eradication of nuclear weapons. After the breakthrough discussions between Gorbachev and Reagan at Reckjiavic in 1986, the substantial cutbacks in Russian and American nuclear warheads agreed to under the START negotiations, successive initiatives at the UN and the review conferences of the Non-Proliferation Treaty

We know gun control doesn't work. Years ago, California's government made fully-automatic assualt rifles illlegal. Now only the criminals in California have them. The gangsters' weapons are smuggled across the border from Mexico.

Erik Prince, Republican with insider connections was able to found Blackwater at age 27 with his mommy's and daddy's seed money. Now, he's a billionaire.

"Blackwater bills the U.S. government $1,222 per day for a single “protective security specialist,” the report says. That works out to $445,891 on an annual basis, far higher than it would cost the military to provide the same service."

“Privatizing is working exceptionally well for Blackwater,” said Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., committee chairman. “The question for this hearing is whether outsourcing to Blackwater is a good deal to the American taxpayer, whether it’s a good deal for the military and whether it’s serving our national interest in Iraq.”

I just recently moved out of an apartment into a house. I still have my apartment until the end of Oct. My landlord first changed the locks on the apt. Yes it was empty and I wasnt living there. But Its still mine for one more month. Then he started doing repairs. The big one is that he had to have the carpets neutralized due to my cat. Although my cat is an indoor cat and very well litter box trained. My problem is that he didnt give me the option to neutralize it myself. And he is now telling me I owe 160.00 for the job. Can he charge me that. After all it is still my place. And I probably could have had it done for much less. This is in the state of Texas.

I've heard that there is a part of the Patriot Act which allows Law enforcement to ask you a question. You must answer the question, but you can never tell anyone what you were asked or what your answer was. If you do you can go to jail!
I've done a search of the Patriot Act and it is a whole lot to read and hard to understand unless you are a lawyer! If anyone knows if this is true please tell me and give me a source where I can find it!
Thanks!

am seriously scared to death of my husband. He has threatened on more than one occasion to bash my head in, kill me with his bare hands. He has put guns and knives in my face. He has only physically hit me twice. But he has threatened many times. The last time he threatened to bash my head in, he actually took his night stick and swung it and put a hole in our bedroom door. I ran for the phone to call the cops but he took it from me and would not allow me to do so. I recently found out that I am pregnant. He has a daughter by another relationship who is a wonderful father to. I think he'd be a great dad to my child as well, but I don't want my child in that situation. How do I get out? I don't want to ruin his career by going to the police department he works for but I want out, and I don't know how!
