We know gun control doesn't work. Years ago, California's government made fully-automatic assualt rifles illlegal. Now only the criminals in California have them. The gangsters' weapons are smuggled across the border from Mexico.

To Che: President Reagan was talking about a large scale nuclear war. A limited nuclear war brought on by a rogue state like China will not destroy the earth. China has less than 100 missiles.

Criminals in Washington D.C. switched from guns to knives. Knives can be more deadly than guns.

Is this a question? Gun Control hasn't worked in this country because there's been very little gun control practiced in reality. Almost anyone living in the USA can purchase a gun within 2 weeks or same day in many states. Students at Virginia Tech learned the hard way what the lack of gun control in that state could lead to. The USA is a country of gun fanatics who think they need to protect themselves from a non-existent threat. There's no reason for any civilian to own anything beyond a hunting shotgun/rifle, only police and military have a need for handguns. I don't mind gun collectors, that's just a hobby, its the people who think they need protection that you have to worry about...besides the criminals of course. USA # in civilian on civilian murder and other criminal actions.

Of course only criminals have them, because owning one makes that person a criminal. That is the worst non-argument I have ever seen.

So you are okay with nuclear fallout as long as the earth does not get destroyed. You are okay with large sections of the earth to be unihabitable for centuries. Your understanding of nuclear weapons is clearly very limited.

The knowledge and technology is out there. If the super powers of the world do not have nuclear weapons, it does not mean that no one does.

It is idealistic to think that if the US disarms, the rest of the world will follow suit. It is realistic to think that if the US disarms, the rest of the world will enjoy their newfound power.

Obama would not only disarm citizens through gun control, but disarm the nation through canning the nukes.

And just because you get rid of your nukes does NOT mean the other nations have done the same. Just as getting rid of your guns does not disarm the criminals.

But since you asked, yes gun control works quite well in Japan, pretty much all of western Europe, Canada, Australia, the list goes on....

Your supposition is incorrect.

Compare gun deaths in the U.S. with gun deaths in any heavily gun controlled country- like Japan and tell me what you see.
