In the 90's a wrench was thrown into the Presidential Elections by Ross Perot, and in the ots, by Ralph Nader. Were there instant run-off elections in these cases, we could have been assured in who the President should have been. There is nothing that I can find unconsitutional about instant run-off elections in this our non-parlimentary democratic republic, so why don't we have them?

What is it that propels Hindus in Congress or Communists party to abuse, hate and become animous towards our own Sanatan Dharm? What is this culture, this brainwashing, this strategy? Where is Ambika Soni from.

Given the premise that lying is allegedly the new currency, what would be the outcome WERE politicians were to tell the truth... the WHOLE TRUTH... and NOTHING BUT the TRUTH?

Feel free to give an example.... or 6...

If it's such a grand idea to have national healthcare -- why do people from other countries that HAVE national healthcare make trips to the U.S. to receive medical attention?

Should the next president have the military leadership of Eisenhower, the diplomatic ability of Ben Franklin, the fiscal management ability of Bill Clinton, the unifying ability of Ronald Reagan, the drive for social change of FDR?
What's you take on the next president. If you could take bits and pieces of past presidents or statesmen and roll them up into one person, what would that president be like?

In a poll I supervised the results showed that 100% of Canadians are happy with their health care system. They also said that any negative comments/stories you hear are U.S. propaganda or urban legends.

I don't think 100% of U.S. citizens are happy with their health care...

Stick up for Vick and O J proclaiming they are innocent and being "picked on" in the face of mountains of damning evidence, supporting them regardless of the outcome !
Take Micheal Vick
The reason people were outraged by this was because he killed dogs. If Ben Roethlisberger or Brett Favre had done it, the reaction would have been the same, I guarantee you. The difference is, had Ben Roethlisberger or Brett Favre done this, you wouldn't see white supporters rallying behind them.
Take O J
Now we here from some in the black community that his crime is akin to spitting on the sidewalk !!
Do people actually think that toting guns and going into a man's room, threatening him with death, confiscating items from the room, is no worse than spitting on a sidewalk??!!
What kind of country would America be, if anyone who felt wronged could get a mob of heavyweights and guns and TAKE what they think they are entitled to?
That is Gangsta crap-----and should NOT BE TOLERATED

Yes it was funny at first, but enough is enough.Just think how you would feel if people laughed and mocked you wherever you were.I have many of these American types working for me and most of them seem o.k.
They are an easy target for us all, but lets cut these chaps some slack.

I wouldn't like to tar all politicians with the same brush, but the job does have a notorious image of drawing in people who are unscrupulous in their pursuit of power and abusive of their position.

If you think the state having the power to monitor individuals behaviour as a matter of routine is a good thing, does it necessarily follow that you trust the politicians who are implementing this system, both now and in the future?

I study a few martial arts, but seem to be getting conflicting messages from tutors about when it is alright to use what I'v been taught.
For example, 1 Tutor said that if someone pulled a knife out and *threatend* to use it, you can (if you want to risk it) take the from them by force as a pre-emptive measure, whilst another tutor told me you can only defend yourself if they actully attack you first.

I would really like to know the UK laws about self defence so that I know if I am ever in that situation (or one like it) that I will not be charged by the police for assult as well.

PLEASE NO USA ANSWERS (your laws dont apply in UK!)

I think it's not.
I think if you are found Not Guilty in crimminal court than a)that's it you can not be sued for the same crime or b)the burden of proof shoul be made the same as a criminal trial

What do you think?
