I am deeply offended. My parents are immigrants from Italy and I am tired of people thinking they deserve more rights because they belong to a group, this is not the American way or what the constitution is supposed to be about?!

This all stems from a conversation on whether or not the government should be using our tax dollars to subsidize things that some of us may not agree with. For example subsidizing abortion as population control, subsidizing certain groups...I think that this collectivist concept causes us to be more divided. However, I also think that the government has no right to make laws regarding social and moral issues. Period!

We get our rights from our creator because we are individuals. That is what this country is supposed to be about. Now it is only about the Federal government telling us who gets what because they are part of some group.

Collectivism is inherently racist and I think it is a horrible concept to build a country upon. What say you

The only person I know over there is a nephew of a friend. He's a nice young man, and whenever I hear on the news that troops were killed, I also hope that it wasn't him. That sounds bad. I don't want ANY troops to die. I knew a young man killed in Afghanistan. I think about him all the time.

killed my son, yet the courts said you didn't. Would I be justified in suing you personally, due to my own beliefs?

Absolutely not, well except in America. Land of the free? Give me a break. More like, land of the vengeful and greedy.

I think LESS tax dollars should be used on useless stuff, like inmates having cable, and MORE tax dollars should go to things like animals NOT being put to sleep in animal shelters and getting spayed/neutered. Can i just write the Presdient everyday? Or how can i get their attention. Im sure there are THOUSAND of people out there who feel the same way. We all know that animal abuse, etc, putting them to sleep is wrong, but we MAKE EXCUSES for it. We say :"If we dont put them to sleep, they will overpopulate." Well, use some tax dollars to spay/neuter them. Also, if its okay to put animals to sleep so they dont overpopulate, is it okay to go to human orphangeas and put them to sleep? NO! So it shouldnt be okay with animals either. People need to quit making excuses as to why they THINK it is okay. Animals shouldnt get punished because of us.

recently bought a no tears shampoo that burned my eyes and my 2 year olds. emailed complaint and got a refund check for the product, $3.99. I wish to return check with letter stating that this is an inadequate compensation. I am not looking for tons of $$$$, but 3.99 is just an insult, if it were your kids I am sure it would upset you that Johnson and Johnson put a 3.99 sales tag on your daughters eyes. any suggestions? thanks ahead of time :)

I asked some political questions today. The answers came in like a coin toss.

Heads - "I enthusiastically agree with you Matt!"

Tails - "I vehemently disagree with you Matt!"

Edge - "You're an idiot Matt!"

I'm amazed at how many times the coin lands on edge.

I can't be a politician because the heads and tails both sound good. People make excellent arguments either way. I don't know how anything gets done in politics.

Any thoughts?

Is it legal for an employer to automatically enroll an employee in benefit coverage? 401(k) - yes. But medical coverage? Paperwork was given to a new hire and the employee did not decline or enroll in coverage because he already had medical coverage through his spouse's employer. His employer now takes a deduction from every paycheck for medical and says it is because he did not decline coverage. He was auto-enrolled and cannot drop or change his coverage until open enrollment a year from now. He didn't WANT coverage and is now PAYING FOR coverage he does not use. Paying twice - through his AND his spouses employer. As well, he has to let his other carrier know about the coverage, which potentially causes issues regarding who has to cover the treatment. It's a mess. Is it legal? Does the employee have ANY recourse? Or does he just have to pay for this all year when he never signed anything opting for coverage? If you have any input, please let me know. I appreciate the advice!

What do you guys think will gas come down soon? I am thinking Bush and his Cronies will come off the gas gouging soon, so that he will make himself look a little more favoriable when he leaves office.

And part two do you think the new president whoever it maybe will induce lower gas prices? I know someone will jump in here and say it is all OPEC and Hurricanes and the War that have hiked gas prices. But some of us know the truth Bush and Cheney are Oil Men and getting friggin rich right now. Just want some opinions.

In a 1973 White House conversation between Kissinger, the national security adviser, and Al Haig, then Nixon’s chief of staff, Kissinger said military men are “dumb, stupid animals to be used” as pawns for foreign policy.

As one of Nixon’s closest advisers, and later as secretary of state, Kissinger ran foreign policy as a personal fiefdom. Bypassing Congress and sometimes Nixon himself, Kissinger used his power to spy on Americans and members of Congress, plotted military coups in Chile and Argentina, supported torture states, threatened to use nuclear weapons and bombed civilian populations in Laos and Cambodia.

Bush asked Kissinger, now a private consultant and powerful force in Washington, to lead the 9/11 commission.
During a private meeting with the 9/11 Family Steering Committee in 2002, Kissinger faced questions about his client list. He refused to say whether he worked for Saudi clients or anyone named bin Laden. Today, Kissinger remains a presidential adviser, helping Bush and Cheney devise Iraq strategy.

The quote is found in “Final Days,” a book by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. Kissinger has never disputed it.

Things are like i am a college student, found a part-timed job in a restaurant few month ago. Two month after, i was terminated without any reason and explaination, and I am absolutly sure i never done anything wrong and brought anybody trouble. Just one day my schedule suddenly getting less and less, til i compeltly disappeared from it. They used to put me as a full-time one, so i had to give up my another job, and my summer school class. After they hired few more people, just kicked me out without any notice. Two weeks i got no work, and it took me another 2-3 weeks to find another job. I have bills coming everyday, that makes me a big financial gap. That job screw up my everything and left me a entire month without income. I realize there is no legal action i can take. but, is this fair they can hire anybody, as many as they want for temporaly need without notice, and later just kick them out ignore how much troubles they would bring to others? what can i do??

With the bridge burning of foreign relations over the last years, our political agendas being viewed as misdirected or imposing and a loss of credibility as a peacemaker and genuine good will state... What can the US citizens do to improve our image globally, what can we do as a people to positively impact the lives of the less fortunate both in and outside of our borders? How can we send a message to the world that our olive branch is mightier than our sword?

Mexican trucks are not safe, there have been studies that show they have not been safe time and time again. And the facts stand that I don't remember EVER in the USA history of having THREE semi's involved in one accident where the weather never played a part. How much will our insurances go up because of the danger of being on the roads?

How many people are going to die at the hands of these trucks? My guess many, MANY more than what happened on 9/11.

This describes, the increase of Latino culture in the US, and Islamic culture in France and UK. Why are so many people wanting to throw the prejudice card out at someone, who doesn't enjoy the changes in one's society. By this I mean, when certain cultural influence's affect the way of a nation's previous society. Why is that considered racist? Is it because I enjoy the culture I grew up with, and don't want to lose it? Does that make me an ignorant and biased individual to want to preserve "my" culture? No offense to Latino's/Muslims but if I wanted to live in a highly Latino/Islamic influenced society. I would move to one. Why are so many people disgusted at the idea of assimilation? I enjoy the nation of Turkey, and I am learning about Turkey's culture and it's history. I am essentially trying to adopt the culture of Turkey, because if I want to be Turkish, what right do I have to tell Turks how to speak or pray, or live? Does Pro-Assimilation make someone prejudice? I think not.

You know, the scene where King Arthur represses the peasants (Eric Idle) in the field?

Dennis: Ah! Now we see the violence inherent in the system!

Arthur: SHUT UP!

Dennis: Oh, come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!

Arthur: (muttering) Bloody peasant!

Dennis: Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressin' me? You saw it, didn't you?
