mtmeggio, I have enough.

Please note I said "real world". If you can find one practical application of string theory to the real world then I would be glad to hear it

People are irrelevant in the world .
We could lose billions and be better off .

How many people do we need in the middle east to pump out the oil .

Around 20,000 or so would do the job nicely .
What is it a financial investor provides to mans survival .
Does he plant a single row of corn or feed a chicken or do anything except profit from the labor of others .

We only need people who are willing to dig wells ,plant crops, fish and transport these goods to those who need them . Along with people to provide shelter .

SO most of this planet prospers off the work of others and needs to go .

We would be much better off if someone figured out how connect all the matter in the universe into a coherent theory that provided a hot meal to starving people .

String theory, is more irrelevant.

We know Canadians exist.

Edit - String theory cannot be tested, sensed or seen nor do we have any theories as to even how to come close to doing so.

The only thing that it does have going for it, is that the math conversion between quantum mechanics and Newtonian physics fit.

If there ever was such a thing as faith based science, string theory is it.

Edit 2 - mtmeggido
I have the education in physics to make this call, what about you?

BS - Physics
MS - Quantum Mechanics
PhD - Nuclear Engineering
