Real conservatives don't believe in deficit spending BUT neo-conservatives do ! And the reason neo-conservatives like to do it is that have deluded themselves into believing they can get something for nothing. At least that's what the people at the bottom of the food chain believe. The one's at the top know damn well that it will hurt the poor people but it will have little effect relatively speaking on the rich.

Conservatives don't, and never have. Don't make the intellectually lazy mistake of equating all Republicans as conservative. You also need to recognize that Democrats voted for those budgets as well.

Conservatives have been unhappy with the increased entitlements and spending that Bush and the GOP Congress supported. We are unhappy with the all the pork attached to the bills.

This is why conservatives are vehemently against any additional intrusion by government into our health care. If the government starts paying for health care, then we'll all be pining for the small deficits of today.

For the same reason liberals back deficit spending. If you'll recall, the balanced budgets achieved during the Slick Willy Administration were done so with the Republican controlled Congress. However, the real reason both liberals and conservatives seem to implement deficit spending is because they're both puppets for the owners of the Federal Reserve. Bush approved all those Republican spending bills to secure political power for himself and the party. He figured the more pork that went to various districts, the more likely people would vote Republican.

That is flawed thinking. Who has ever voted for a candidate because of new post offices or Social Security offices? Bush has wasted more taxpayer dollars than any president in US history.
