In a poll I supervised the results showed that 100% of Canadians are happy with their health care system. They also said that any negative comments/stories you hear are U.S. propaganda or urban legends.

I don't think 100% of U.S. citizens are happy with their health care...

Canada has a brilliant health care system. Is it perfect? No. But the US is certainly not the country to judge. ALL Canadians get the healthcare they need. I know that's a foreign concept to Americans, but Canada has their priorities right on this issue.

Greetings. 100%? That is not in the range of possibility. with the population of Canada, all think exactly the same? That could only happen in a country with a population of 1. even in Soviet Russia when they announced the election results (yes they did have elections, american style with them counting the votes of course) they always said that 95% to 99% of the people voted communist. no large group of people will ever totally agree on anything at all. your survey would be more believable if you left a few percentage points to cover the dissenters that all societies have. That way those that don't agree will all figure that they are in that small precentage of descenters. Here in the United States our health care sucks and you will find a high percentage of us agree with that.

Interesting. How many people were in your sample? Certainly you didn't poll EVERY Canadian...what was your sample size, how did you choose who was polled, and what was your margin of error?

Interestingly enough, my doctor here in America is Canadian. She came here because her husband works at their Embassy.

She told me that she likes our system better for 2 reasons. First, people in the Canadian system have to wait so long for care that it puts their health in jeopardy - waiting for tests to diagnose life threatening diseases, then waiting even longer for treatment... Second, there is no system in place in Canada by which people with more money can opt out and get their own care, or by which people can see specialists without waiting for months (sometimes years).

She said our system is better at getting things diagnosed and treated early, and allowing people to chose the direction of their health care and to have better results. I know this is her opinion, but as a doctor and a Canadian who has worked in both the Canadian and American systems, I respect her opinion as being more informed than most.

What do Canadians know? Most of them are drunk half the time anyway.

Just kidding.

If you did a poll that got 100% of the respondents to answer a certain way, then your poll questions are quite bad. I would imagine that the question was something like "do you know what healthcare is?" or "are you happy to have healthcare?".

If you are going to make claims like this, you really need to provide your poll questions. This is way too hard to accept.

Problem is, too many people think we should govern by polls.

I'm fairly happy with my health insurance. Company pays 100%. I use it right now maybe once a year for a physical, but it's there if I need it. Medicare and other government sponsored (taxpayer paid) programs are there for other people who can't afford insurance, but qualify for these programs.

Oh, how convincing. You can't poll ONE Canadian and claim that it represents "100%" of the population. Even so, did you ask them how they felt about their taxes? They may love their health care system, but I'm sure they hate their taxes.

Canadians love everything but thier taxes

Canada
Corperate Tax Rate = 36.1%%(average)
Indavidual Tax rate= 15-42% <----(Everyone pays taxes)

US
Corperate Tax Rate =35%
Indavidual Tax rate = 0-35% <------ Look Some do not have to pay taxes)

Oh really a poll huh? How many people were in your scientific poll, 2? Now tell me why Canadians are lining up around our hospital doors?

Our health system here in the US is detrimental. We pay super high premiums and get worse service than free clinics in Canada. It's outrageous!!

100% of how many Canadians?
Why should we take your word for it?
This seems like trolling to me.
