From what I hear, he's a good person and a great choice. I was hoping that he would select someone who had retired. Let's face it, with just a bit over a year left in office, it would be difficult to pull someone out of office or the private sector, knowing that they're giving up a secure position for one that's merely temporary.

I don't know, but if Rudy Giuliani and Chuck Shumer agree he's a good guy, he is at least capable of building a consensus. Considering that Shumer is one of the more liberal senators, and suggested Mukasey both for the Supreme Court and the Attorney General post, I'd imagine he should be confirmed fairly easily.

I think Mukasey's nomination is the only thing positive that Bush has done in his whole term!

I never heard of him. You can be sure the liberals in the main stream media will give him the obligatory anal before he gets voted on.
