The Tribune very cleverly sidesteps the whole issue. Maybe he represents the congress mouthpiece.
The issue is not about the merits and demerits of Sethusamudram Project.
Several top notch engineers have given alternate project plans to carry on dredging and other activities without damaging the Ram Sethu.
While we spend crores over a muslim tomb called Taj Mahal in its maintenece and advertisement, we dont blink a second in destroying the oldest man made structure in the whole world!!!!
The main issue is karunanidhis rabid anti hinduism.
In a press conference he quipped - Who is Ram? Which college did he go to? When did he learn civil and structural engineering? When did he build the Ram Sethu?

Just to pamper karunanidhis draconian demands, the central government which lives begging the DMK and the Communists for its day to day survival has prepared an affidavit saying there is no proof for Ram.

This is the issue. Sethusamudram Project can be continued using alternate routes and methodologies. But the main issue is, Ambica Sonis ministry or Karunanidhis regime cannot insult collective Hindu faith by uttering such blasphemous featid statements.

If the same comments were made about jesus or allah by now these bastards would have been decimated and hung in public.

Before we pronounce any verdict, we are expected to study the case in detail.
In an affidavit submitted to the apex court by ASI, some disparaging remarks about Ram and his sethu had been made in it.ASI comes under the purview of Minsitry of Culture. Ms Ambika Soni is the Minister concerned.She was away in a foreign country.When some persons demanded her resignation on account of the "faux paus" of
some officials, she ordered an enquiry into the matter and got readyto resign.
According to resaerchers , it is believed that the sethu submerged in sea water near South India was estimated as1,759,000 years old.This coincides with Shree Ram
yuga.It could have been built by him.
Since it is made of chalk , it could not have been built over sea.
While Indians claimed it as Ram Sethu the Britishers called it "Adam's Bridge"!
Till recently it did not figure prominently
because many did not know about its exact location, dimensions etc.
After Nicobar Island was washed off by Tsunami and Andaman is not out of danger,
the urgency for a modern port now and a nava base later in the southern coast, has become prominent.Hence, the Govt, has taken up the project.
In keeping with its tradition, the BJP has started opposing it and whippinng up people's emotions saying tampering with that sethu is akin to disrespecting Lord Ram!
If this project, falling within our territorial waters, is to be given up, we will have to
encroach on international waters. That would not be so easy.

I won't say that diggy is digging the grave but its congress which is digging its grave itself. Its impossible for me to believe that diggy is giving all these comments without the consent of party high command. I believe its part of Congress's gameplan. It carries out its plan in 3 steps : 1) Use Digvijay to deliver hate speeches and comments 2) Wait and watch public as well as media's reaction. 3) Modify diggy's comments as per situation and get the official comment released through spokesperson But INC should understand that people are fed up of the system and want to change it. Instead of crushing the movement, govt should respect this public sentiment. They should take some lessons from west bengal. Do not commit mistakes which Buddha did. This is happening repeatedly in India where there seems to be a deliberate attempt to put down Hindus where as other religions are pampered. Muslims are very militant in nature and get provoked at slightest things , they even get govt. subsidy for Haj pilgrimage (although its against Islamic law to take money for Haj pilgrimage)

The political parties believes in dividing the society by giving selective favors. Hindus being the most tolerant always end up getting the worst deal in this selective favor grants.

Absolutely yes. With what mind can the congresswallas face their own children, growing and grown? Sonia is from Rome,the home for all conversion theories. Singh is a US controlled World Bank product. So, sonia becomes power and singh becomes pelf; as usual congresswallas are pilferwallas. So, they want to create a show that sonia said- affidavit withdrawn. That is the reason for persons wearing caste names; as soon as one gets identified by the caste, the contributions of that caste will come to mind and it will give the holder a pride. But look at any congressman or communist, you can only recollect the snatch by the former and fishing in troubled water created by themselves by the latter. The question is whether 'Ramar Sethu' is man made or natural. Irrespective of its nature we can preserve it a monument. There no point in blaming anyone for their views.
