I need to know for Civics class. We have to pretend we're immigrants who went through Ellis Island and now we are writing a letter to someone. The immigrant is steerage class, and one of the answers I must include in a paragraph is to the question, 'What did you bring on board?'

It's a small hand grenade, it is missing that pin that you pull in order to arm it and it's been around for almost 5 years. Is there any chance it may blow? I keep it on display as an ornamental piece and someone else has kept it before me. So...is there something to worry about?...

The governement is doing some help to the safety & security of the afghans but it is unignorable that they can't keep everybody from harm. Soldiers in Afghanistan chose to come there. They know the risks. We (canadians) have to keep in mind that it is not just us involved in this war. There are so many people who want are desperate to stay longer than Feburary 2009. The familes & vistors in Afghanistan r just as important as us. the miltary from Canada is also training the people of Afghanistan to be Poilce workers. I am not saying that people should support our troops in Afghanistan; I just want people to understand why they are there.

Ricardo Cortez, 24, who [is] accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife, Nikki Cortez, 21, and wounding Sam Jantz in a west Greeley neighborhood Sunday night, had a brief criminal history in Weld and Larimer counties, but just last week took a plea bargain in a second-degree assault and false imprisonment case.

He was arrested five days after participating in a protest of the Iraqi war along 23rd Avenue in south Greeley, which he organized.

Universal Health Care for everyone no problem, we'll just (punish) erm I mean tax those nasty, selfish and greedly old Republicans and make them pay for it all. Well here's a question, why don't we hand the entire bill to the Ted Turner's, Oprah Winfrey's, Mr Sorros and Bill Gates of America? All 4 are Billionaires many times over and can afford to foot the entire bill themselves. All are rabidly liberal and wouldn't this help cast them in a more caring and positive light ? Or do we only want to punish erm I mean Tax those Republican billionaires and millionaires ?

The feeling I get from Liberals is that America isn't worth saving any more. When ever I suggest that America is still great I get many answers that absolutely drip with distain and hatred of the USA. Do these people really hate America or do they simply dwell so much on what is wrong with it that they have forgotten the good that we as a nation has done. I am not pointing fingers or trying to be argumentative I just want to understand.

I hope we can all agree that the generally accepted scientific explanation for the current global warming is that human greenhouse gas emissions are the primary cause. Certainly there are some scientists who dispute this, but the vast majority agree with this consensus.

I'm not here to discuss the consensus. I asked global warming skeptics to provide me with an alternative explanation regarding the source of the current global warming if it's not due to humans. Not a single reasonable alternative has been provided, and most people didn't even try, falling back on the same old lame 'Mars is warming' type of discredited talking points.

So if most scientists agree that humans are the primary cause, and if you can't come up with a reasonable alternative explanation, given the potential dangers if scientists are right, isn't it irresponsible for you to ignore their theory?

First of all, dont get me wrong, I'm not talking about blue collar jobs and illegal aliens. What I want to know is, do you really thing that LEGAL immigrants come to America and take jobs from Americans? Its a fact that there are many white collar fields that are in high demand that American kids wont go to college to learn. i.e. medicine, science, engineering, etc. what do you think?

Like traffic school? I got my first speeding ticket EVER on the very last day of August (quotas maybe?). Apparently, I was going 50 in a 40 mph zone, but I swear I was keeping with the flow of traffic. My parents didn't want me to send the ticket in with the money, but told me to contest it. I know people who have gotten out of a lot of speeding tickets on several occassions like that. What can I say to the judge at the court date?

Is China not providing enough fireworks in our rebel states to blow up the nation? I went from Florida to Chicago and on each highway was a major sign advertising fireworks. Was up with that? Today in Florida 3 kids made a coke bottle mix chemical bomb before getting on the bus and loud as heck... they were arrested. Dry ice bombs and do we not promote this violence?
WHY are state legislators allowing this? In Hawaii you need a permit, they are sold only during holidays and it is now regulated. Many of the states we drove thru suffered from severe drought.
SO what do our candidates think about that? And do you have
any ideas or thoughts?
(WE went Florida To North western Indiana) 75 most of the way.

Let's see here. I am trying to pull from all my hate mail I get from people on politics.

I support Barack Obama and Jon Edwards
I support Universal Health Care, even more so because I am chronically ill.
I support non-embroyotic stem cell research
I am a liberal
I am fluent in French

Apparently, once people find that out about me, they call me a terrorist and call me evil. No one cares that I am a Christian. People tell me that I can't be a Christian and a liberal. Isn't that funny? I always though God don't have a political affiliation. I have never bombed a building or screwed with the economy.

This goes to show that you can't label a person when you don't know them. What seperates us is a computer screen. How much of what people say on here is a lie? If I told you I was 6' and a blone supermodel, how many would beleive me? How do you know who I am? How do you know who anyone is? Seriously? Why all this unwarranted hostility and ignorance towards others?
