No. What I think is that people should spend their time, energy, and money on making tobacco illegal period. If it's so bad that we have to ban it from all these public places, and the health insurance Nazis are wetting themselves over it, then it should just be made illegal.
When you stop and think about it, everybody now days knows the dangers of smoking. If you continue to do it, you are basically committing suicide. Which is illegal.

In restaurants yes, but in pubs no.The pub has always been where the working man can relax, have a pint, and enjoy a smoke. Now, since the smoking ban, my local pub in Cornwall is full of children, and I think this is worse than enduring an evening of second hand smoke.Children should not be allowed in pubs, I have reared my own kids, and I do not think my once a week trip to my local should be spoiled by hoards of screaming children. My wife and I never went out to the pub when our kids were small, as I think it's wrong.
I say bring back the fags, and ban the kids. I am a non smoker by the way.

Looking at the tard Nazi up there. Common courtesy? Yeah by taking away civil rights. Guess what lets ban kids cause they annoy me to. Yeah thats right kids are annoying and suck so they are illegal. Leave it up to the business owners. We have smoking and non smoking for a reason. Honestly just Nazi sheep.

I live in Central Texas, and they are trying to get a lot of restaurants and bars here non smoking. As a non smoker myself, I totally agree with it. But it's not fair for those of you who do smoke. Most places you go in to do have a non smoking and smoking. I do sit in the non smoking and at most places you can't even smell the smoke. I do feel that it would not be fair for business owners to lose business because there isn't a section for smokers. Even at a hospital I worked at they changed it to no smoking for anybody. Is it fair for a smoker to go to the hospital for ( lets say knee surgery) and pay for the 3 days he is there and not be aloud to smoke outside????? They even told us we couldn't smoke in our cars in the parking lot. So no, even as a non smoker I don't think smoking should be banned.

Yes it should be. Someone argued that just as much as non smokers have the right to not have to smell it and be around it, smokers have a right to smoke. Here's the problem with that statement. The Constitution states that an individual is only free to the extent that they do not infringe on another individuals freedom. Therefore, smokers can smoke and destroy their lungs and shorten their lives if they want to, but they cannot force others to be around it. Just the same way as I am entitled to the religious beliefs of my choice, but I cannot force you to endorse them. It IS a form of abuse.

I already answered but I thought of something more to say. Freedom has a different taste to those who fought for it.
I served in our armed forces for 8 years and believe me people today who have not served have a completely different view on our freedoms than do military members or former military members.

People who drink alcohol in public annoy me... can we ban that? Oh wait, if the majority does it its called "freedom." If a minority does it, its a disgusting filthy habit.
Freedom is dead. Long live the tyranny of the uninformed majority.

Yes because public places are just that - public and everyone should be able to enjoy them. Many people are sickened by smoke and it is also proved to be bad for your health.

Yes I do. I don't smike and I hate smelling like cigarette smoke, also breathing it in affects my asthma. I respect people's right to smoke if they choose, but it does effect other people as well. Smoking should only be allowed in designated areas, so that smokers only affect other smokers not those who choose to abstain from smoking.

No I do not think it should....even though I do not smoke. Just like non-smokers think they have "an unwaivering right to not have to deal with smoke", smokers have "an unwaivering right to smoke". Why should the rights of smokers be taken away because of non-smokers? That's just discrimination!!
