have the benefit of surprise and would shoot the owner if he reached for a gun. None of the answers that I got on the internet gave me reason to think otherwise.
However, I was talking to a friend today, and he suggested there is a battle going on between rich and poor in the United States. He says that when a poor criminal enters the house of a richer person, the criminal is usually on drugs and is going to shoot the house owner even the house owner does not own a gun.
Now that makes more sense than any replies that I received on the internet. If you are going to be shot anyway, you might as well have a gun and maybe you will be lucky enough to get the drop on the intruder sometimes
I am disappointed that I didn't get a single sensible answer on Yahoo answers, and had to turn to someone else.
But I still need further convincing. Is this the way it is?Are most intruding criminals apt to be poor people hopped up on drugs
and determined to shoot you even if you do not have a gun?

Republicans running in the primary constantly reference Reagan and want to serve as he did. Last time I checked, two Bushes have served after Reagan. Why do they avoid the subject of Bush? Would they like to serve as Bush has?

...will personally walk around with her riding crop tormenting all the good Christians, straights and talk show hosts. Will she dine on the bones of succulent young children. Will she have her name carved on the face of the moon. Will we be forced to stare at pictures of her til our eyes are pinpoints, and sign loyalty oaths to her eternal emperessness.

Really, is there any hope of us surviving her ten thousand year feminist reign... the horror.

Not just the Assyrian Christians, but the Christians who fled Dora also.

Also there is a web site of the Assyrians at http://www.assyrianchristians.com .

I have been praying for religious freedom for the Christians in Iraq for a long time, now there is more hope for them than ever. And because the US is helping Iraq.

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai pleaded with Canada on Tuesday not to withdraw its 2,500 troops when their mission ends in early 2009, saying to do so would only help deliver his country back to the Taliban, the Globe and Mail newspaper reported.
Karzai made his comments to a special meeting of all Canadian reporters based in Afghanistan.
"The presence of Canada is needed until Afghanistan is able to defend itself, and that day is not going to be in 2009," a story on the Globe Web site quoted him as saying.

So far 70 Canadian soldiers have died in Afghanistan, most of them in roadside bomb explosions near their base in the southern city of Kandahar.

Why are our soldiers there ? Their original mission was peace keeping - Under this Bush friendly Conservative minority they are hunting and killing
Will Harper'sgovernment fall to no confidence because of this
Why is Harper using our military for this purpose?

Why did oil go from around $20.00 a barrel in the late 90's to over $75.00 today and higher .
Why are over 2 million people losing their homes in the next three months .
Why is the dollar worth only .04cents Today compared to its full value of $1.00 some years back .
Roll the clock back and tell a man making $2.00 an hour that in the future that $2.00 will be worth $40.00 but the price of bread is going from .10cents a loaf to $2.00 .
Now tell him in the future he will only be making $20.00 an hour Instead of the equivalent of the $40 he makes now relative to prices .

We are losing our standard of living and people are making much less then they use to while a small group has gone from making millions to billions .

I work in an office and do a lot of typing. I wear support gloves which help cut down on the pain in my hands. I asked my new employer if they would buy me a new pair as needed, since they last about 3-4 months. They said no, because then they'd have to buy them for everyone who would need them. I can't afford the gloves, and they are not available by prescription. What other options do I have? Am I right to be angry?

you think it's caused by volcanoes.
you think it's caused by water vapor.
you think it's caused by soda pop carbonation.
you think it's caused by cow and moose farts.
you think humans can't alter the global climate.

The sad reality is that when a cop "tasers" an unarmed person who has at one time done cocaine or crystal meth the odds of their survival is not likely.

When the county coroner comes on TV to tell us all that the "suspect" died because they had at one time or another done drugs... instead of honestly saying that the police taser killed them... it creates a vigilante justice system in our society where the police are acting as judge, jury and executioner.

Would you agree with this?
Do you feel that having done drugs in the past is reason enough to not have your safety be a concern in American law enforcement?

Hilary was the "health care Czar" from 1992 to 2000 and she did nothing! Does she really believe we believe her lies again? Last time it was I'll have this done by 1996, then it was I need to 4 more years to complete this. Now it's I'll finish what I started then! yada, yada, yada!

This woman had done nothing but live high on the hog from all our money and delivered ZERO. What has she actually accomplished? Ever? Name one thing?

She can't even keep a normal family together, how can she run the country? She got caught in shady land deals with Bill while they ran the State! The morals of this country never spiraled down so fast as when the Clinton's had the White House. SEX,DRUGS, LIES! Great administration!

Currently in the process of being charged with 3 misdemeanors:

M1: Theft By Unlawful Taking
M1: Criminal Conspiracy Aiding
M3: False Reports

On trial date, I arrived to check in and was told that I was not on the list for that particular day (although my court papers stated otherwise). I was then told to go home, that I would be contacted by mail or telephone within 2 weeks with an updated court date.
THAT WAS 6 MONTHS AGO!
Absolutely no mail or call from them since. I haven't moved and they know my contact information.
My probation officer (from previous case) gave me a URL to a website his office uses to do warrant/criminal history checks.
I've checked this site every day now for 6 months and it says as it did before. It continues to show active and that my most recent court date was the day I was turned down!

So, my question is:
If the court continues to "forget" about my case for XX amount of months, can it be thrown out?

(Unique situation, wishful thinking)

I have observed that almost always that a party comes up with "dirty tricks" to use against the other party. They say or support others saying or implying things that are not true or have no basis in fact, etc. and it just seems to be an acceptable part of an election. And what could really be scary is what if "dirty tricks" possibly swayed an election and led to the election of a leader who could lead the nation to possible disaster. I was just trying to think what would be some of the "dirty tricks" that will be used and against who? I guess it depends a lot on who gets to run, but that is becoming more clear. Just wondering. I am thinking that the Republicans may have to use more of these tactics next time, since they may have a harder time getting their candidate elected?
