Robert Blake got away with murder too and it looks like Phil Spector might get away with murder as well.

Not sure why OJ was such an issue, over those 2 idiots.

I think the ultimate slam America could give OJ is just let the legal system take its course without all the press coverage. OJ for the most part is a media wh*re and loves the press and attention he is getting. Deny him that and he will go into withdrawl. Recently he projects more swagger and machismo and talks as if 'he is OJ what can they do to me'.....I find him reprehensible, not based on his race, but his attitude, the same way I think that snivelling weasel Phil Spector should pay for his crimes as well. OJ (a black man) was married to a white woman who ended up dead, Phil Spector (a white man) was married to Roni Spector ( a black woman with a heck of a talent) and she almost ended up dead, and some other poor woman did end up dead at his home....no difference in crime and attitude in my opinion. I am a firm believer that *ssholes come in all colors.

It isn't OJ, or Paris, or Britney in particular that rocks any American. It's the escape from reality. It's the media over-feeding the same thing to the public, knowing full well that it's human nature to be curious. Sure, there are bigots who eat that shtt up, but they would find anything to complain about. Mostly, it's a diversion tactic created by the conglomerates with the aid of psychologists, to keep America dumb. With an added benefit of higher ratings.

That trial was horrible - no one should have allowed it to be turned into a race trial. It was about murder first and foremost. I'm obviously not black, but I'm not a racist. Unfortunately many police officers in America still are. I think that's why it became a race thing - because there have been (and continue to be) many injustices in the judicial system and some of the cops that handled the evidence were obviously racists. So it seemed like a lot of people wanted to see him get off because it would be like a victory where so many innocent black people have already gone to jail. Unfortunately I believe he did do it, and it's unfortunate that his particular case became the symbol for that.

If people in this country want to fight a REAL racial injustice we should all be turning our attention toward Jena, Louisiana. Mychal Bell's sentencing is coming up. That's the most clear-cut example of racism, so much so it makes me shudder that it still goes on to that extent in this country.

It has nothing to do with his race. It's his blatant disregard of the law. What did he think would happen when he burst into a room with a gun to take back what was his? It doesn't matter if it was stolen from him. The right way to handle it is to call the police. Let them take care of it. If you want, offer to work with them and wear a wire and go in to talk to the people. It doesn't matter where you are, holding people in place with guns is a felony and will get you put in jail.
But with the publicity this will earn, he'll get his dream team back. Maybe not the exact same slime balls, but of an equally slimy lawyer persuasion.

I was never much of a sports fan, but I used to think he was funny running through the airport and playing Nordberg in Naked Gun. But of course he caught my attention during the murder trail. The alleged patterns of spousal abuse struck a chord with me. It wasn't/isn't about race. It's about arrogance. I would love for him to be innocent of the murders. I can't know because I wasn't there, but I watched a lot of the bleepin' trial. I just know first-hand the behaviors of an insecure, violent man. I feel the same way about the white actor who knocked out his son's front teeth.

Proving that the US justice system is so corrupted by lawyers and money that a millionare can literally get away with murder is what does it for me.

Why do you try to frame it as a race question?

Would White America have responded the same way if Paris Hilton had done the same thing? You can bet your sweet White America booty on it.

A black celebrity got away with murder because the LA Police Department has such a history of racism that they could not convince a jury that what should have been an open and shut case was a frame up.

I don't know, maybe it's the dead people, or maybe it's the armed robbery, or the numerous other run ins with the cops, I
know these things are normal and not a big deal in some circles, but trust me they're bad.

Simple. He got away with murder, rubbed it in all of America's faces, said he was going to hunt down the "real" murderers and promptly went off to play golf, lost a civil suit by the Goldman family and ran away, insults Ron's father any chance he can, and some members of the African American community cheered on his release not caring about his guilt, only that he got off. Those people changed their ways quick, but still, it was an infuriating time.
