A liberal friend of mine and I were discussing this very issue about 2 years ago. I asked her, "If I had told you 20 years ago that marriage was between a man and a woman, you would have said yeah, why are you telling me this?"

However, she asked me the very same question that you did. Give her one logical reason. I couldn't think of one good reason.

Normally I tend to agree with Rush and other talk radio conservatives, but all their reasons sounded like excuses. Basically, they boiled down to it devalues marriage. How? My marriage to my wife is not harmed in anyway if two gay people get married. If marriage is about procreation, it's not restricted to those only able to have children.

Marriage is basically about forming a family with a certain legal framework.

So bottom line, I no longer oppose gay marriage, although I'm not going to be an advocate for it either. It's just not my hot button issue.

That's funny. I don't have a reason why gay marriage shouldn't be allowed. I think it should be allowed. I'm not gay but I don't feel the need to but into other people's business either. If gay people want to get married, let them. How does it affect anyone else other than the two people marrying each other? That's my take.

Well Republicans need the votes and what better way to get their social conservative base out to the polls, than to scare the crap out of them with the "threat" of gay marriage. You gotta love the doomsday rheotric they dish out...

"Dear Friends, I write to you today with a profound sense of concern... Barring a miracle, the family as it has been known for more than five millennia will crumble, presaging the fall of Western civilization itself... For more than 40 years, the homosexual activist movement has sought to implement a master plan that has had as its centerpiece the utter destruction of the family." - Dr. James Dobson of Focus on The Family, in a July 2004 letter to supporters.

BTW, to some of the posters above me, homosexuality and gay marriage does not go against God and nature. Sorry to burst your bubble.

That article is hilarious LOL. I have none what so ever. I think that since people are equal gays should have the same rights straight people have its as simple as that because if its made illegal then that would be a violation of the bill of rights which is our constitution and the constitution is the foundation of the U.S.

Considering the problems the human species seems to be having with overpopulation and over consumption of resources, I think gay marriage should be encouraged.

I have a couple reasons, It goes against what the Bible says, and I don't want my children thinking that its OK behavior based on my religious belief. What people do in the privacy of their own home is their business, but when you put it in front on my family, it becomes my business
