This “hate America” nonsense has gone too far. It’s a stupid, fascist slogan designed to crush dissent and it is highly offensive. Liberals love America and seem to be more interested in doing something to help make it better than others who live in some blind fantasy world criticizing and lashing out at anyone who dares to question.
It is morally indefensible to approve the wrong things that your country does just because it’s your country. No progress can be made with that kind of attitude. Honesty is vital.

Not pointing fingers huh? Okay. I won't either.
You have greatly misunderstood whatever you have heard. But since I don't know what you have heard exactlly, I can on say how I feel about America. Ready?
I LOVE America. It's the best country in the world, not perfect though. I don't expect it to be. So are the people, with a few exceptions, murderers, rapists, some politicians (any party), racists, you get the idea?
I LOVE that I can practice my religion freely, that someone else's beliefs don't rule me and mine don't rule them. Take the gay marriage topic.
I see a majority being against it for religious purposes, right? Immoral? Tell me about the divorce rate in this country. People get married, 55 hours later they get divorced. Adultery is popular. Don't believe me? Billboard sign in California encouraged it. Which one of those immoral acts is in the 10 commandments?
As for abortion. Touchy subject. But I'm still not going to tell someone they can't do something, that has such an difference of opinion in science, because I believe in god and they don't. Sorry, that's the beauty of America.
You cannot base what you read here in this arena the notion that Liberals hate America. I have seen such hatred here from both sides that it scares the crap out of me sometimes. But it is not mainstream, I can guarantee you that.
I will go so far to say that I don't believe that all Republicans send death threats when you don't agree with them. But I have received many on here.
There is so much good happening here in this country, but the problem is that it doesn't get reported. Sure, you see people making a difference at the end of a news program sometimes, but 90% of the news reported is negative now.
You don't hear about the good things people say about this country because no one seems interested. doesn't matter which party you belong to, it doesn't bring in the ratings.
Vent over, thanks.
Proud Christian American Liberal Democrat

You are way off if you believe that 1/2 of the country, who happens to share similar political philosophies, think that America is lost, an should just be cast off. You cannot judge all people of a certain political group as a whole, since there are several different sub-groups, and each person has their own personal beliefs, last time I checked.
I wish you would not be so quick to judge. You are a Republican, I assume, yet I do not immediately assume you are a fierce Iraq war supporter, and share some of the lesser-than-kind views that the GOP often is (often unjustly) parodied as having. This liberal is a defender of America, her rights, and her people. As are virtually all of the citizens of this great country.

You're misunderstanding. There is still a lot of good things left in America. But liberalism wants to correct the wrong. The same can be said of conservatism. Cons believe for instance that taxation is a bad thing. So they complain about it. But does that mean that cons hate America ?

I don't understand you
You want to wave a flag, and profess how great everything is
You aren't seeing what is going on around you:
decay of our infrastructure, social services, unaffordable health care, poor education system, corporations taking over and driving out independent business owners, government officials lying and getting away with it, an enormous national debit (and growing,we owe, our kids will owe, and their kids will owe) crime as a result of un-dealt with racial issues, a greed mentality, exhibited by the rich that knows no bounds (and if you can get away with lying stealing and cheating, it's ok), Monopolies controlling market share and price, insurers cheating people out of care they paid for, a growing dissatisfaction, and disillusionment that has many taking all kinds of drugs pedaled by rich pharmaceutical companies (some drugs not approved by the FDA, oh but they will recall them later and settle out of court to those harmed), a political system that is ridicules, inefficient, wasteful (ever here of "cost plus"), and only caters to money
It's a new century, but we've dragged all the old crap along with us. Time keeps going, we have no solutions and our problems are growing. Now if after all of that you still feel good about how this country is handling things.....you must be on good drugs

Personally thinks Bush's foreign policy is frightening, and brings to mind may times when USA was ugly. Don't know if you were to put on the scales of justice USA good deeds and bad deeds which would tilt the scales most. My hunch is many liberal don't hate USA, but they strongly remind people to look at the whole picture and not some sugar coated spin.

A popular approach to the epistemology of disagreement, roughly that we should take everyone's opinion as being equally likely to be true unless we have specific evidence to the contrary, leads to incoherent results when applied to disagreements within epistemology.
Those people in the life boats after the ship sinks are always going to say everything will be just fine "A bigger ship is on the way" , lets row towards it . .
Its the other half that are drowning that you hear screaming before they go under or are smacked in the head with the oars .

Most liberals will choose to change this country rather than give up on it. Perhaps the ones you talked to were a little different, but for the most part, we only hate certain aspects of America and wish to change them. Any liberal who understands a good bit of American history will know that there's always going to be some good with the bad, and always has been, but that there can be more good as a result of a change in action.

It is true,They don't stand for America or stand up for America,They spew their hateful spew at America,They go around globally and put Our country down. It is a shame and very disgusting~ They want us to become a socialist country, just listen to them~They don't have a problem with killing babies but don't kill an animal, They say that global warming is changing the way animals mate etc. But they could careless what their immoral beliefs and actions are doing to the traditional American family (Husband&Wife). We can go on and on but I suggest you read Power to the People by Laura Ingraham, You'll get your answers there~
