"Professor John Marburger, who advises President Bush, said it was more than 90% certain that greenhouse gas emissions from mankind are to blame.

The Earth may become "unliveable" without cuts in CO2 output, he said"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6994760.stm

Here is Marburger's rather impressive background:

http://www.climatescience.gov/Library/bios/marburger.htm

Basically he's endorsing the IPCC's findings. Why would President Bush's science advisor do such a thing if there were any significant doubt in the scientific community that the IPCC report is correct and humans are the primary cause of the current global warming?

Can any global warming doubters explain this?

We talked about 1.5 weeks ago then through 1 email then they stopped responding to me. Can they send me to collections before we are finished talking, I read some place that they can't since I contacted them well before the 10 day limit they gave before sending to collections. Not sure how valid it was though.

Main issue is they claim I owe money I said I'd pay if if they gave some information to me, I asked for info in 2 emails and they wouldn't respond. I talked in person, on phone with their law dept and in email before they cut me off.

thanks

If a member of your family is involved in a fatal car accident and you are listed as the emergency contact, when the police officer calls you, do they actually tell you or even worse leave you a message saying that your family member has been involved in a "fatal" car accident? Would they actually say the word "fatal" in their message? How do they normally go about handling these types of phone calls?

My boyfriend said he was told that he must stay in the army for another 4 years after his 8 year commission (due next year). And, rather than selecting his next unit, his follow up was already assigned.

I'm devastated, he's in Baghdad right now, and I don't want him to go for a 3rd tour, and I want him to leave army asap and start our normal civilian life.

Is this some new order to prevent losing more officers? Or did he make this up in order to stay?

Thanks,

I'm looking into a legal separation with my spouse, and am wondering if we can write our own contract instead of going through lawyers and the system.
We could easily make such a contract now and agree on the terms, but I want to make sure such a contract would be binding in the future. Is this possible? Thanks.

"Even more brazen have been several kidnappings of 50 to 100 immigrants by rival cartels, which hide them in stash houses in and around Phoenix until families pay a ransom. One captive's face was burned with a cigarette, another person nearly suffocated in a plastic bag. A woman was raped. Fingers have been sliced off and sent back to families with demands for money."

"Anthony J. Coulson, assistant special agent in charge of the DEA in Arizona, said records indicated that cocaine and heroin seizures may end up twice as high as last year. Marijuana seizures are increasing 25%. Nine months into the current fiscal year, he said, his team had already seized more pot than all of last year. "And 2006 was a record year," he said.

In the Tucson sector alone there has been a 71% increase in marijuana seizures over the last fiscal year, with the Border Patrol reporting 648,000 pounds confiscated since October.

In the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale, Arpaio said, a cartel operative was openly selling heroin to high school students. "He was getting 150 calls a day on his cellphone," the sheriff said.

It's Ken Livingstone's (Mayor of London) latest move to relieve traffic congestion.
We all know that he's friendly with the IRA.
We know he's friendly with Libyan Bombers.
We all know that he hates the Middle-Class:
And all the cars that have been blown up are MIDDLE-CLASS GAS GUZZLERS.

I think he's got a bunch of bitter and twisted Traffic Wardens (not hard to find) and they sneak about the place, targetting Toffee-nosed Middle-Class school-run Mums in "Chelsea Tractors"
What do you think?
BTW just got a violation for the Israeli car-bomb joke!

Where I live, it is the law that you have to own a gun. In a city in Vermont, it is illegal to own a gun. That city in Vermont has a high crime rate. Where I live, we have one of the lowest crime rates in the country. In my opinion, I think it is great to be required to have a gun. Also, I love deer hunting and just shooting guns in general at the shooting range.

So, what is your opinion and why?

btw, this isn't my homework, I really want to know some other viewpoints.

or they know for sure they were moved elsewhere. Here is my question. I want someone to post undeniable conclusive evidence that we found the vast stockpile of WMD chemical weapons or reconstituted nuclear capability that Iraq was supposed to have so much of that it was considered and urgent threat to the USA as our cities were in imminent danger of having mushroom clouds over them....or that they were in fact moved to Iran or Syria, or Russia or whereever else you claim they were moved to. I simply want facts. I want a website, a link, a credible article, official announcement from Bush administration, photos, etc..
that the vast stockpiles were found and or undeniable proof that Iraq had them and moved them. I think this is a fair question, and it would be good to solve these debates with facts rather than fictional claims. Right now what seems to be fiction is that Iraq was such a massive threat to us that we had to act. Go ahead though, this is your chance to make your case.

Having viewed some of the comments on how to deal with Iraq and on another note Al=queda, it seems that Americans have a blood lust as long as the war affects them only on the basis of their sensiblilties and patriotism and not in their pockets or territory. Demonisation of the enemy and polarisation of politics seems very akin to facism. Are there any Americans out there that feel that hate is§nt the way forward or is it Hell no ,Lets go ..... Four legs good two legs bad:::: Which is the order of the day

I want to become a politician after I retire from the U.S. Army. I'm going to go to college and I need to know what type of class should I take. I'm going to be in ROTC in college aswell. I'm planning on retiring from the army as a general. So, I'm going to be in the army as an officer for a long time. Then after I retire I want to be involved in politics. So, what degree and class should I probably take? Thanks! Serious, detailed answers are appreciated.
