KEKIONGA - I don't recall having asked for your approval or opinion. I merely asked if anyone had any tips for acquiring MACE. As to your redundant comments about it being illegal - I am fully aware of this and it's none of your business; it's my choice to make and my business to know why I want it.

Mace is a chemical compound that's hard to get hold of if it's illegal in your area.

An alternative is:

1/4 lb. *crushed* small extra hot chili peppers
2 cups vegetable oil
1/4 cup vinegar

Simmer the crushed chili peppers in the oil for about half an hour on LOW heat so you don't burn them.

Allow the mixture to cool, then strain out the crushed chilies in a cheesecloth. Pour the remaining chili liquid into a small bowl, add the vinegar and then fill a small, purse-sized spray bottle with the mixture.

It doesn't have the aerosol boost of mace, but it gets the job done VERY efficiently.

Wren M's suggestion of tabasco/water or ammonia are also good, but keep in mind if you use any chemical (bleach, ammonia, acids, etc. that can land you in jail . . . either the homemade chili spray or the Tabasco/water options are the best and least illegal)

You can buy MACE and just about anything else over the Internet. The manufacturers of MACE are not concerned about which country you live in or the laws thereof. They're in business to sell their product, as much of it as possible and thus make a profit and safisfy their shareholders.

Here in UK, where the citizen is forbidden by law from defending him/herself against attack by villains, it is illegal to spray MACE.

Nothing to stop a person squirting a mix of red hot chillie peppers etc over a would be attacker.

Personally, I have always found a good hard kick or knee in the regions of the goolies/balls/nuts works. No one ever comes back and asks for more of same. Also a kick on the shin[s].

If/When anyone tries to attack you, get in close, so that you are breathing into their mouth. Pull their ears, scratch their face. Anything, plus a knee up where it hurts most.

Hi,

You have 3 main choices.

Firstly if you live in the UK or other European country that bans the sale of MACE, take a trip to France, purchase it legally there and bring it back, theres little or no chance of you being caught (as long as your not carrying drugs as well)

Secondly there are many US based sites where you can order MACE and TAZERS and they will deliver to the UK and other countries (in the UK it'll get through around 95% of the time)

Thirdly the easiest thing to do is make your own spray, again you have 2 main options. (1) Fill a small bottle (old perfume bottles are ideal) with Tabasco and water. or (2) the better option is to fill a small bottle with Ammonia (available from almost any hardware store)

Mace is illegal in most countries. Pepper spray is a legal alternative. If you feel the need for self-protection, consult with law enforcement on what and where you can obtain legal devices, substances.

Why not ask us how to get hold of an Uzi and ammunition while you're at it. Possession of CS/pepper spray is criminal.

CS and/or pepper spray is what is called a section 5 firearm under UK law. If you were to ever use it in the UK for example (don't know where you are) you could be very likely to face a more severe penalty than the person you were defending yourself from.

You can import it through the internet if your lucky enough to get it through customs. But if you are caught in possession of it in this country you could end up in prison as its classified as a firearm in the UK.

Mug a policeman. They wont fight back, they dont like to deal with violent crime.
Seriously though I dont know why its illegal, If the police wont protect women especially then they should be able to defend themselves.
I dont reccomend you import it though, customs will know who its going to and whats in the package, so they will turn up on your doorstep and slice you into little pieces for even thinking about standing up to violent crime.

depending on your locality try a martial arts shop. 99 percent of them are within the law. but my local martial arts shop jesus wept! you wanna see what they had on display for sale legally. i was like a kid in a candy factory. nunchucks katanas and something that looked like a meat cleaver. yep try your local martial arts shop you could get lucky. but make sure that they think you dont know its illegal, just in case they're too strict about stocking it or selling it.
