If it were not for the theft of public funds (since 1948) Israel could not defend itself.

If attacking countries for UN violations is justified, why not Israel?
Because of AIPAC. Pure and simple. The Israeli Lobby has gotten much to influential in our United States of America. It influences Government, and will shout "Anti - Semitic" to any individual who criticize.

It's all BS and that has been pointed out about a million times on Yahoo Answers alone. There are two sides, the pro-Israel people, and any one else is automatically labelled as "anti-Semitic". Well, ALL people of the Middle East are SEMITIC, so the use of that term is unjustified. And, this also brings in to question the "fact" of the word of G-d. We don't actually know He exists, and the words of the bible are really hearsay, so how do those authors and supporters gain credibility, and why do we, believers or not, have to recognise borders based on religion, which could be all made up mumbo-jumbo? There are too many flaws in the argument, and too many double standards. Any logical person would recognise this and be able to poke more holes in it than Swiss Cheese. This is a bunch of bull crap. It's the money from individuals in America that aid Israel. If you want proof that money is being sent there, here you go http://www.juf.org/govt_affairs/default.aspx proving that they put money where they want action here, to help in Israel. Your tax money going to Israel because the government votes were bought by those who support a questionably fictional country.

In the 1920's, the fighting and riots against Jews in Palestine really started to get organized. The British went to great lengths to settle the conflict, and ultimately concluded that a partition of the area they had occupied since before the end of WWI was in order. In other words, the support in the West for the Jewish state was as a result of the misbehavior of the Muslims in the first place.
On the 29th November, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution (181)calling for the establishment of a Jewish State in Eretz-Israel. Again, this was as a result of the behavior of Muslims. Had they acted like civilized people, they could have had all of the protectorate of Palestine to themselves the following year.
But, the killings continued. "During the period beginning in December 1947 and ending in January 1948, it was estimated that nearly 1,000 people were killed and 2,000 people were injured.[30]. By the end of March, the figure had risen to 2,000 dead and 4,000 wounded [31]. These figures correspond to an average of more than 100 deaths and 200 casualties per week; in a population of 2,000,000.From January onwards operations became more military, with the intervention into Palestine of a number of Arab Liberation Army regiments who divided around the different coastal towns and reinforced Galilee and Samaria[32]. Abd al-Qadir al-Husayni came from Egypt with several hundred men of the Army of Holy War."

On May 14, 1948, on the day in which the British Mandate over a Palestine expired, the Jewish People's Council gathered declared the establishment of the State of Israel. The new state was recognized that night by the United States and three days later by the USSR.
So, the Arabs actually started the wars against Israel before it even existed. It's very existence is a result of those wars.
It's time that someone learned a lesson from this, but as a Abba Eben once said....
"Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
There could be peace there, but if it is to come at the price of the existence of Israel, that has already proven to be a much higher price than it is worth to Arabs.
Oh, and ask yourselves why the Jews wanted "historical Palestinian land" set aside for them, when they've made no such request/claim/demand in other places where they have had heavy populations, such as Germany, Russia, and New York City. What's different here?

To do so would require a UN resolution to act. This will not happen because both the U.S. and Great Brittain would veto any such resolution. Attacking another nation for U.N. violations is not instantly justified.

well, because Israel is America's "mini me" so The Chosen People can do pretty much whatever they want to their Muslim neighbors. they can disregard the treatise they've signed and squat on the land belonging to others,. they can humiliates Palestinian civilians on a daily basis, force Palestinians into poverty ridden ghettos, bomb civilians, imprison without charge women and youths, build a huge apartheid wall through Palestinian homes, farms and businesses and they get to use illegal cluster bombs on Lebanese civilians in their bid to grab the Latani River.
yep ... The Chosen People are above adhering to International Law. they're special.
