No, the troops aren't coming home yet. 30,000 will be soon. We can't sustain this war much longer whether people are behind it or not. That's just a fact nobody wants to talk about.
This Congress took impeachment off the table. They weren't going to get rid of the wire taps and in fact voted to establish the rest of the 911 commission recommendations. They do need to require warrants even if after the fact. The Patriot Act will probably be in place while there is a Democratic president as well and several future unknown presidents. Does that worry you at all? The illegal war decision hasn't been forgotten by several other countries so that remains to be seen. Rove resigned. Good enough.

Stiffled by the fact that the Dems just don't have enough votes in Congress, and Republicans vote in lock-step, irrespective of what is good for the country or what is the will of the people.
Democrats need 10 more votes in the Senate just to get cloture. That means they need 10 Republicans to agree that a Democratic bill should be allowed an up or down majority vote. To override Bush's vetoes, Demos need 17 more votes in the Senate and 33 more votes in the House.

ajfrederick, i am humored by your last statment of after 5 years the Iraq government not being on its feet yet. WOW. Since our government had to fight through 2 different wars, had to have help from France in the first, and failed to make a correct constitution the first time! WOW the ignorance in our country. Also, I never hear the democrats complaining about the continued troop involvment in South Korea, where over 20 plus years they have become successful. Again please do not speak ever again unless you actually are going to allow intellegance to come out of your mouth, oh and please dont vote communist party in the next election (democrat) vote for freedom (republican). Thank You.

None of that matters. Is Bin Laden dead? What progress have we made in home security? Is the Iraqi government FINALLY able to stand on its own feet after 5 years of occupation? These are the questions dem's are asking.

Someone on here once suggested to me that 4 years was not enough time to see progress in Iraq, be patient.
I'll suggest the same to you, be patient.
