I think if this plan works it won't be long before American truckers will be forced to try to find work elsewhere.

Earlier this year, Congress ordered the Department of Transportation to launch a pilot program to study whether opening the U.S.-Mexico border to all trucks could be done safely.

The Teamsters and Sierra Club argued in their court papers the program proposed by the administration won't yield statistically valid results and the public wasn't given ample opportunity to comment.

"This is just more deceit from the Bush administration," said Teamsters President Jim Hoffa, who said he was skeptical of administration claims that Mexican truck drivers will be tested for drug and alcohol use.

"How can that be when there are no drug testing labs in Mexico?" Hoffa asked.

In a way, we should all be appreciative of Senator Larry Craig’s post-conviction claim of innocence. At long last we have a member of the United States Senate who has acknowledged the phenomenon of the false guilty plea, if not the pervasiveness of wrongful conviction itself. Or better yet, by insisting he did "nothing wrong" despite violating a statute, Craig may have finally expressed doubt in the laws that lawmakers have rained down on us. Viewed in their worst light, the allegations made against Craig hardly seem to rise to the level of criminal conduct. Yet Craig’s guilty plea to disorderly conduct charges will prevent him from formally appealing the conviction and will likely haunt him for the rest of his life."

The climate is changing - It really does not matter who what or why - The climate is changing and that means a reallocation of resources is slowly happening

All scientist agree the planet is getting hotter - They do not agree on how or why - or possible projections for the future - But they do all say Yes it is getting warmer

The political strife that is going on all says a war ( a big one) is more than possible and more likely now than it has been in the past 50 years

Nuclear weapons oil supplies food and water and weather all mix in to a potentially deadly broth.

Terror stalks the US and econiomic disaster is not out of the question

So are we likely going to see the war to end all wars (for real this time) in our life time ?

You claim that the government isn't listening to conversations that aren't about terrorism.

How does the government know, before it listens in on your phone call, what the call is going to be about? Crystal ball? Tarot cards? Dionne Warwick?

For those of you who don't support the war but "support the troops". How can you say that? Isn't that the same as saying "I don't support hitler but I support the nazi soldiers"? They chose to be there, we have an all volunteer army. And if they really truly had some moral objection to killing woman and children they would simply not go. The common qliche of " the just do what they are told" . Is just away of no holding them responsible or accountable for what they are doing.

I signed up with no incentive other than to serve.

They argue how the war kept Iraq from wiping the US off the face of the planet. Yet, it takes $40,000 to get them to sign up and do anything about it.

I was beaten up by 4 guys, one guy stomped on my knee dislocating it, while they all beat into me. I saw them a few minutes later walking down the road so I rang my 2 friends, we got out the car and hit them a few times with bats in the legs causing minor bruising/sprains to three of the guys. I went to jail as did my friends. was this fair? It was my first offence ever.

Cheney goes to the NSA and says, “I need to see a few transcripts on this person. He may be a sleeper”. NSA taps the guy and later gives Cheney the transcripts. Turns out, the person in question is a contract sales guy for a Haliburton competitor. He is setting up a contract to sale Egypt widgets. Cheney now has inside info on this company. There is no judge to follow-up so Cheney/Bush have nothing to fear. Haliburton goes to the Egyptian company and under bids the competitor due to inside info.

I wanted to sign my husband, who is currently out of town, up for a tanning membership (aka contract) because of a promotion that is going on at the salon. I filled in all of his information (social security, etc) and signed and dated MY name. Before the counter person processed the information, I told her nevermind and to wait until my husband gets back to see if it is what he really wants and that we will come back. She took a hold of the original copy of the contract and also mine. She did not charge me, but the credit card information was written on the paper so she could process it, but I stopped her before she did. I actually want to cancel the whole thing altogether, and was wondering if she could use it against me that I've already signed for it. Does it still make it legal if its under his information but my signature is on it and not his? Going in tomorrow and hoping I didn't screw myself over...

Most of the American people live on far less than this. Is this why the government has no idea why people can't afford health care, new cars, bigger homes(or even one at all) and to send their kids to college?

We have a nation in chaos:
-open borders and a country where drug dealers have more power than the police
-leaders who say whatever it takes to get them re-elected (most of the senate doesn't worry about this, they stay in office because they continue to move their districts to ensure victory)
-a war that is being fought, it no longer matters what got us there, we're at war! get over it and behind the troops (sometimes it sounds like siblings bickering over a lollypop that was broken a year ago)
-sex scandals, money scandals, ____ scandals (you fill it in)
-ILLEGAL aliens who have more rights than the citizens who are legal residents-sorry, but there is something wrong when someone has the right to break the law-it makes no sense-I can't rob a bank and complain that the money I got-or can I? If you don't like the way you're treated - go home! (I'm Mexican!)

I can go on all day long; the housing market, outsourcing, unfair trade relations, etc, etc, etc...
When does it end?
