is it true that lawyers work 14 hour work days and have no social life? I have heard about this trend from a number of people (one actual lawyer working in a lw firm) and I was wondering if these statement s had any weight?

I would volunteer to build a section of the wall. Don't you think there will be many other Americans who wouldn't mind doing it too.

I scored a 72 line score on the Administrative section of the ASVAB Exam. I noticed people talking about scoring 110's and 120's for the line scores. How do I know if a 72 is OK or bad? I know nothing about the Airforce and don't know if I can trust the recruiter when he says that 72 is a good score. Is he lying or is this a OK score to have.

My spouse lost his D.L. to DUI 15 years ago. Since we are having trouble arranging the money to pay for an attorney to help him, I thought of a scooter so he can get around without me having to take him everywhere. I'm told that a D.L. isn't required for engines below a certain c.c. /speed. Does anyone know the laws regarding scooters in the state of Michigan?

Ok first off all I have been on probation for almost a year now. I havent had any violations at all. The other day I was out drinking with the guys and before you know it arguments flared with another party. So the cops came out and wanted us to break up and go seperate ways I had blacked out at this time. The next morning I wake up in the hospital with stitches on my lip and a notice to appear in court for resisting arrest. Though here is the the thing I have no other charges to go with it that even says why I would of been arrested. I am not a lawyer but if they charge you with resiting arrest there should be another charge that goes with it right. If so can and will they actually convict me of this and if so will it violate my probation. I talked to my P.O. about it and she said that its up to the state to pick up the violation or not. I need some help in dealing with this has anyone ever heard of such a thing and if yes what was the outcome. Thank you for all the input.

Hopefully they will jail all of the management and owners of this business.

Although I believe that illegal immigrants should be deported and jailed if they ever re-enter this country for any reason I feel that they are far less culpable then companies that hire them. These companies are the reason that we pay such high taxes educating, medicating, feeding, jailing, pressing one for english and just the pain in the rear that all of these illegals place on this country.

Do you feel the employers should face LONG sentences?

In order to become President, you have to be born in the USA. Unfortunately, this excludes military brats born abroad, even if they were abroad in military service to the USA.

I was born in Germany, on an American Army base, because my dad was in the Army and was stationed there. If I ever wanted to be President, I wouldn't be able to because I wasn't born in the USA.

I don't want to be President, so it's not a big deal to me. But, I bet there's some patriot brats who would like the job, but are being denied the opportunity for the same reasons. It seems to me that they should have that chance.

Your thoughts?

28 years ago today 18 members of Britains Royal Parachute Regiment were killed in an IRA ambush at Narrow Water, Co Down. On the same day in Co Donegal, Lord Mountbatten of Britains anti-Catholic Fascist Royal familly was assasinated in Donegal. The Paras were the regiment behind the murders of 14 Catholic civil rights marchers on Bloody Sunday in Derry in January 72. The events of August 28, 1979 were seen as retribution for what happened on Bloody Sunday and graffiti appeared in Catholic districts in the north of Ireland stating 'Bloody Sunday not forgotten, we got 18 and Mountbatten'. The ambush at Narrow Water was Britains greatest single loss in the troubles in Ireland. Was this attack against the Paras justice for the victims of Bloody Sunday or will justice not be served untill Britain is finally ejected from Ireland?

Our country is not being flooded with immigrants, global warming is not caused by them and neither are housing shortages. Look at the facts before you allow the media to tell you what to think please. I dont know how many times this will have to be said before someone believes it, but the colour of you skin or any other aspect of your looks, does not determine your personality or beliefs. You could try and understand and accept people before you judge them.
Please think before you mindlessley accept.

CINCINNATI (Reuters) - U.S. immigration officials raided the Koch Foods Inc. chicken plant in Fairfield, Ohio, and expect to arrest more than 100 employees as part of a criminal operation against illegal immigrants, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said on Tuesday.

"We're anticipating more than 100 (arrests) but the numbers have not been confirmed," said ICE spokesman Greg Palmore. "Simultaneous search warrants were executed at Koch Foods in Cincinnati and at the Koch headquarters in Chicago."

"This was a targeted work site enforcement operation involving criminal search warrants," Palmore said.

Palmore said the raid, which began at 10 a.m. EDT, was the culmination of a two-year investigation of Koch Foods, which produces chicken for export, food service and retail markets.

Calls to Koch Foods, headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois, were unanswered.

Tim Bachman, development services director for the city of Fairfield, said the plant near Cincinnati employs about 500 workers.

The raid on Koch was the latest in a series of immigration raids targeting businesses employing illegal workers across the United States. Many U.S. meat industry workers are immigrants, mainly Hispanics.

In December 2006, hundreds of employees were detained in raids at Swift & Co. meat plants in six states, part of a probe into identity theft involving illegal immigrants.

Deputies in the Butler County, Ohio sheriff's office were assisting federal immigration agents with the Koch raid and may provide detention facilities if required, a sheriff's office spokesman said. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070828/ts_nm/immigration_koch_dc_6

But immigration advocates in Cincinnati said the force used during the raids was terrifying the local community, including U.S.-born children of immigrants who are afraid their parents will be taken away.
Here we go again, using the poor anchor babies as a shield for their criminal behavior.

Most states penalize you by suspending your license if you fail to meet your obligations under a child support order. I'm not claiming or encouraging fathers not to pay but how exactly is this a beneficial and effective tool to promote/encourage men to pay?

How is placing a license on suspension beneficial?

Here are my arguments;
You have to find alternative means to get to and from employment.
If you personally drive and get pulled over the punishment for driving with a suspended license is punishable by jail time.
If you're placed in jail you become further in debt as an obligee.
If you become further in debt, you'll find yourself struggling to make your personal ends meet because they're getting you for unpaid arrears.

So, exactly how is it beneficial to revoke someone's license?

Anyone have any alternative ideas?
