I hate people that judge someone like that. Especially since you're trying to be a nice guy and help people and children in need. I guess that there's really nothing you can do, it's hard to change peoples minds unfortunately. You should just continue doing what you're doing and prove them wrong... make those idiots realize that there's more to a person than their looks. And don't let them bring you down either, it's shouldn't be because of a few people being judgemental that someone stops doing great things for the community. And Good luck!

You have to understand mentally and phyically challenged children are targeted when it comes to easy prey. You will get these looks for awhile, but if they haven't denied you from working with the kids, I would suggest build a great rapport with the kids, make them laugh, teach them, treat them as you would a regular kid that likes to have fun.

I have also heard people say they wonder why people would want to work with these types of kids because they need soo much of your attention and time. So they naturely assumed you are there for your phyical gratification rather than the great feeling you are getting for your soul.

Contiune to be your sweet self, help these kids. But you do have to prove yourself to these parents and school offiicals because they have seen it all, and that when you have to become understanding and realize these kids parents only want whats best for them.

Be sure that you are never alone with them. This keeps you out of trouble, and being accussed.

I don't think there's anything you can do, except continue to prove them wrong. I think it's admirable that you're working hard and helping kids, and there will always be ignorant people who want to shut you down for whatever reason.

Don't let it get to you -- you might even turn it into a lesson for the kids you work with, since I'm sure they'll have to deal with the ignorance and the mistrust.

I think you should speak with a supervisor or someone you trust. It may not be your race at all, but rather something else in your presentation that is triggering suspicion in people.

That's an awful situation to be in, why don't you just leave and find somewhere else to work where you will be appreciated for who you are. They don't deserve your effort's.

Good Luck!
