We'll never know because Gonzoles has a poor memory and the remaining U.S. Attorneys will pull the same obfuscations.

They were not fulfilling their job descriptions and he fired them. he has the authority to do it!

By the way libs....Bill Clinton fired 93 Attorneys.. How much outrage was there from Republicans? None. We respect the law.

This is just another example of how our treasonous democrats will do anything to gain power. They dont care if our country goes down in flames, as long as they get to be in power....Make no mistake. These people and their supporters are ignorant and naive.

Precisely the reason we will have another Republican in office in 2008.

"Each of us was fully aware that we served at the pleasure of the president and that we could be removed for any, or no, reason," said Carol Lam of San Diego, in a joint statement for herself and other fired US attorneys who appeared before Senate and House Judiciary panels. "In most of our cases, we were given little or no information about the reason for the request for our resignations. This hearing is not a forum to engage in speculation, and we decline to speculate about the reasons."

Because he did what he was advised to do (by whom is up for grabs and it may have been from people under him in DOJ such as Monica Goodling and others or it may have come from other party quarters; Karl Rove) and he is too much of a loyalist to use his own discretion in the matter. He is the consumate yes man and therefore not fit for the job.

Because they refuse to participate in an illegal voter fraud scheme he was running. My question is, how many of the ones who did not get fired are guilty too.

I'll give you the simple answer: he fired 9 US attorneys for political reason (they weren't "faithful" Republicans).

They wanted to be US attorneys and not Republican operatives.

That is why they were fired.
