I was summoned for jury duty this week and I've been calling in all this week and so far up until today I hadn't been asked to report. NOW, all of a sudden I've been asked to appear Friday at the courthouse. My question is how can they select me on the very last day if my summons was for the this week ONLY?

YES and I NEED QUICK TIPS TO GET OUT OF IT, I have classes next week and I don't have time to waste on someone who decided to commit a crime; if school weren't an issue I'd go and I'd probably be more sympathetic but since it's interfering I'm NOT!

Comming from Ny and going through British customs at manchester airport I encountered a dick who just flat out was harassing me. After giving him all the stuff he asked for he then proceeds to ask me, How long did I know my BF, Who paid for my ticket and when I said it was my Bf he said, "why couldnt u pay for your own ticket?" Then told me to take out my wallet to show him how much cash I had on me then told me it was small for the amount of time I was spending out there to which I replied, "I dont walk with alot of cash when I travel hence why I have my credit cards". He just was acting nuts! The whole 2 months I spent out there I hated it just because of what happened to me at the airport- That was my first time traveling alone, Did he have the right to go that far?

I dont want to hear any answers like, "Oh he's a retatrd", or, "Oh, he's the Devil". I want serious educated answers. I understand you may not like him because your morals aren't the same as his. But why do you hate him? I cannot understand what is so wrong with him. He is fighting a war that has liberated MILLIONS of people from oppressive dictators. The economy is in the best shape it has ever been in, and he has guided us thourgh some of the toughest times the US has faced since the Civil War. What is wrong with him? Every time I ask, nobody can seem to give me a straight answer.

by privatized, i mean the states still pay schools money like they do now, its just there are no Unions running them. So far, my past high school, i found one competent teacher who actually wanted the Union out because he was surrounded by idiots.

Personally, i believe so. Schools would work harder to find better teachers because they would want your business, and instead of bringing everyone down to the bottom child, they would try to bring everyone to the top child. I know there are draw backs however

Let's say that you live in a rough part of your neighborhood and you walk around with a gun for your own protection. One night, you walk into a convenience store and it's just you and the clerk in the store. you go to a back shelf to get a bag of potato chips, suddenly, a robber comes in with a revolver he tells the clerk that he has 10 seconds to fill up a bag with money or else he'll shoot him. Luckily, the robber did not see you. 10 seconds go by and the impatient robber pulls the hammer of the revolver down and aims it at the clerk's head, you take out your own gun and shoot the robber from behind. Although you didn't mean to, you shot the robber dead. You wouldn't be charged with any crime right? Since the robber was an immidiete threat to the clerk's life.

We are planning on getting married but not right away. I will be living where ever he is going to be staioned, but I have been crying non-stop at the thought of not seeing him except for 3 months out the year; especially when I will be in a new place and not know anyone! Is that what it is really like? The more I think about it the more sad I get; is this normal??

I recently called the NY state troopers regarding someone driving or about to drive with a baby in front seat of vechile. While dispatch relayed information they also relayed My name, Date of birth and personal cellphone number. Is this illegal? I am very uncomfortable with the fact that ANYBODY can call my cellphone and knows my date of birth etc. I am sure there are people who sit glued to scanners waiting to hear information like that. I am a 33 year old criminal justice student who is THINKING about getting into LE in minnesota. I have about 1 year to decide wether to take the risk and go down the skills route to become licensed in minnesota. My problem is i was a idiot in my early 20's when i got 2 DWI's. There are no excuses for these except i was a idiot. I also have speeding tickets on my record. I fully accept and realize that i have 2 1/2 strikes against me should i go down the route to becoming a police officer.

To try and offset this very big problem i have or hope i have the following things going for me....

1. Current Job as a Security Coordinator/Certified protection Officer

2. Reserve Police Officer with Local Dept...

3. Volunteer Big Brother.

I've been doing my homework on this, so if you reply and say i dont have a chance, it wont bother me.... you make stupid decisions you have to pay for them

I am not anti woman--I am not affilliated with any political party--I am an adult who's been through many former presidents--very few of them who are easily forgetable--and more recent candidates that should be---we need a LEADER who will run this country as it should be--never mind all these campaign empty promises--as we've been getting--past & present--I do believe a woman could run our country,as having a female mayor in my city,whose been our mayor for aprox.10 years--with no tax increases in the past 7 years--incredable!--with the choices we have--i'd sooner put my mayor as a write in!!!

Do you think it's because of Iraq? Every poll seems to indicate that Americans are sick and tired of hearing about Iraq, but Americans usually vote to send more U.S. soldiers to Iraq. I suppose that's because President Bush always says terrorists will come to America if Americans do not sacrifice in Iraq. Do you think he's unpopular because of Iraq, or is it because of something else? I'm sure most liberals think he's a complete idiot, but I need a better reason than that. I listen to talk radio all of the time, and no one in talk radio seems to know exactly why Bush is so unpopular.

ive heard people say either that there is alot of progress and alot say there is absolutely none. The media paints a similar picture. I read an article in TIME that convinced me we must stay because the surge will work, and another in Newsweek that convinced me the opposite.
