Do you think it's because of Iraq? Every poll seems to indicate that Americans are sick and tired of hearing about Iraq, but Americans usually vote to send more U.S. soldiers to Iraq. I suppose that's because President Bush always says terrorists will come to America if Americans do not sacrifice in Iraq. Do you think he's unpopular because of Iraq, or is it because of something else? I'm sure most liberals think he's a complete idiot, but I need a better reason than that. I listen to talk radio all of the time, and no one in talk radio seems to know exactly why Bush is so unpopular.

Hurricane Katrina was a freak accident that no one expected. No one expected those levees to break. Ray Nagin was the mayor of New Orleans. He never said anything about those levees.

iseaulater2, I agree. I think Bush has done of terrible job of comforting the American people during tragic times. He is one of the worst communicators. At least Dick Cheney is not President.

WOW, lot of Bash Haters and Bashers here. I am Former Military and my opinion on Bush is. The man has dealt with alot, first off 9-11, 3,000 Americans dead and Millions of dollars to repair New York City ,one of the goals of Terrorism is to disruppt the economy and Osama and the Boys did just that. War in Afgan. Florida Hurricanes, wow it seemed every week Florida was being hit with one after another, and alot of federal aid went to Florida. Hurricane Katrina, when a disaster hits like that, FEMA takes over and they did a poor job at the begining and everyone Blamed Bush and when, your the top guy you get the blame but other agencies need to step up and Congress as well, but if N.O. would have fixed the Levi's as told years earlier the damage may have been less.
War in Iraq, hot issue, we got Saddam, and the war hasn't gone as planned but we can not allow the terrorits to gain another country break or will, but we need to support our troops in the field, and our country, Harry Reid saying we lost the war only helps our enemies and hurts the morale of the troops.
Bush has delt with alot in about 7 years, some good, some bad, but being American we got to support the president and our country, claiming radical 9-11 conspricy theories, pointing fingers when Hilary, Kerry, Kennedy all used the same info to approve the war to get re-elected know say they were wrong. It's funny Clinton lied alot and did nothing about terrorism, Bush has made a stand against them to secure our way of life, the man has delt with alot, before you bash him try walking a mile in his shoes sometime, It can't be easy. especially when you got a very liberal media jumping down your throat every chance they get.

I think President Bush is so unpopular because of the way that the media portrays him and the war in Iraq. When CNN or NBC says that the war is failing and it can never be won, that is the only thing we Americans have to go by. We can't get on a plane and fly to Iraq to see for ourselves. The media is the only thing we have to go by, and if they portray him as a bad president, we have no choice but to go by that. I know that I may sound like a HUGE conservative, and I am, but it really is the liberal media. If you really want a good rating of the president, you have to look into your heart and look at what you believe is right. Personally, I think he is doing an excellent job. The war on terror has liberated literally MILLIONS of people from oppressive dictators. I think doing that and spreading democracy is the best thing we can do for the world.

Incompetence. He screwed up everything he ever touched. There is not a single decision of his that didn't turn out to be either irrelevant, wasteful or outright disastrous.
Going to war in Iraq just tops the list of his screw-ups as the crowned #1. However, as bad of a mistake as going to Iraq was, we are already there, simply getting out may not be the best move. Whether sending more troops will make some sort of a difference... maybe, maybe not. What is certain is that we can't afford another big mistake at this point.

He is not the best president lets face it. But even some of the best ones had poor rating in their second term.
I believe Iraq war and other things like those embarrassing things like talking about pork and massaging German Chancellor's shoulders which made her freak out has made people sick of him and he is now like a comedian.
Its not liberal or conservative. Even if it were not for the Iraq war if anyone behaves like the way he did in public eye would loose support.
I really don't know if this approval rating is true because I personally cannot believe 90 million people approve his job. thats 35%.

There's a pair motives. I believe facet of it needed to do withdeclaringg assignment completed after which no longer pulling out of Iraq. People say it was once earlier than that however I quite believe that is wherein plenty of the anti-Bush rhetoric began. Could you assume how exclusive this election might be had he no longer declared "assignment completed" or performed it in a rite on a service or piloted a fighter jet in to make his look. Came off as very cheesy. Second I believe they might have performed a greater task of being attentive to and empathizing with the persons. Don't misunderstand what I imply, the persons that accept as true with him don't seem to be who I imply particularly, due to the fact that he already is aware of what they have got to say and likes it. There are a colossal quantity of persons that seeped external of the purpose due to the fact that of war of words along with his coverage or false impression of why he made the coverage choices he made. When they voiced their evaluations or protested or wrote their representatives to do some thing. He or contributors of his cupboard might circumvent the disorders and be very angry and I dare say, condescending. None of those matters performed good within the public.

The war in Iraq is a very unpopular war - it is a very difficult war and there seems to be no end in sight.
And, unfortunately, the bucks stops at the commander-in-chief.
The democratic congress has demonstrated their covert support for this war by not owning up to their campaign promises of withdrawing the troops - seems they, too, know that the consequences of a terrorist victory could be disastrous for the United States. Of course, as long as they can convince the public that this is "Bush's war" - the feel they can capitalize on this discontent while still maintaining their anti-war facade.

He is ignorant, and this is a great travesty. America is full of wonderful, intelligent compassionate human beings and then this is the guy you put in charge - it's an embarressment to the world.
He ignores any advice, eg from all other countries and the UN, he gives tax cuts to the rich, he lets your health care be the WORST in first world countries, your education level is also one of the WORST in OECD countries, your level of social justice is shocking in OECD figures, you still murder people - state sanctioned executions, you practice torture and then preach morality.
Honestly, get a passport and travel, you will see that America is not living up to its potential in any benchmark of modern civilisation. Ignorance is NOT BLISS.

there are lots of reasons. here are mine:
-he cheated to win the election.
-he lies to people and eludes straight answers to questions.
-he puts on a mask.
-hes not very bright.
-he contradicts himself.
-he laughs at hes own cheezy jokes.
-he staged 911 to gain support for the invasion of another country.
-he has signed a presidental directive that, in the event of another national emergency, gives him the power of a dictator and suspends the elections.
-he keeps sending people to die
-he has put us back into debt.
there are many more reasons that i dont know much about because i dont pay attention to politics so much, but im an average american and ive already got quite a list.

Too much napping in the voting booth.
Mature Americans all across the country forgot a president gets elected for four years.
It's not a parliament. Wake up because you are stuck with your own choices for longer than you realize.

There are no accurate, unbiased polls to honestly inform the populace whether or not President Bush is popular or unpopular. Unfortunately, the U.S. populace has fallen prey to the plague of political correctness, and being a nation of dupes and wimps, there is little courage, patriotism, or guts to be found in our country. I predict that when some of our major cities are leveled with nuclear bombs, there may be a resurrection of courage, unity, guts, and the will to fight our enemies.
