Like it was said above, in most CA departments you'd have no chance. I voluntarily admitted to driving over the limit, even though I wasn't arrested, and it was almost a deal breaker for the CHP.
I know some agencies are becoming increasingly more lenient on past behavior. Oakland PD is even hiring ex-gang members and applicants with out a high school deploma/G.E.D.!
You're doing the right thing by owning up to your stupid reckless behavior and by going above and beyond with the reserve police position and volunteer work.
Good Luck!

Yes, you have a chance.
A DWI, within 3-5 years, is normally an automatic disqualifier in the employment process for any department. After the 3-5 years, the DWIs are reviewed and a decision is made.
Best of luck.

At least in California, you won't have a chance with 2 DUI's. But hopefully Minnesota has different guidelines.
I Wish You the Best of Luck Getting Hire by the PD.

To be honest, with the situation you described, you and any Department you apply for will have a pretty tough time getting past the two DWI's.
I won't say that you don't have a chance. There may very well be a Dept. out there that would be willing to hire you. But there aren't going to be a lot of them.

Not a total dealbreaker, but have a "plan b".
Police hiring is a competitive process. You can't just meet the minimum qualifications, you have to convince the department in question that you are the BEST candidate for the job. THAT'S where you will have the problem. Most of your competition won't have that 2.5 strikes against them.

Depends on the interview and the last time you got a ticket, the DUI's are more than 10 years old. I am all for people turning their lives around...hope you get the job.
