It is clear the republicans clearly represent policies that favor the rich and wealthy, so from an economic self interest point of view it is illogical for that support to exist. Please name then, the other reasons why ordinary joe american would be a republican.

The Bush Junta insisted that this guy be tried in some kind of Star Chamber military tribunal because some terrible 'secrets' might be revealed. Eventually he made it to a regular court...after being held for over three years without a lawyer in a navy brig. An American citizen stripped of his rights...it gives me the creeps. Does it bother you?

What is the fairness doctrine? Why do democrats want it back? Why are republicans against it? Why is it such a big deal to those in talk radio? Would it really make that much difference if it were to be reinstated?

When you really think about it, Liberals came first, didn't they?

When America was a Brittish colony, it was liberal types who opposed the rule of a monarch thousands of miles away. It was a liberal ideology, a questioning of authority, and an anti-establishment way of thinking that made America what it was back then - and what it is today!

Liberals came before conservatives, when you really think about it. Had there been nothing but conservatives back then we would still be ruled by some guy in London to this very day.

Do you see my point?

Do you agree?

I started writing a short story (just for the sake of my love of writing) about a national elite, elite, elite unit xD Its a rip/spin off of Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, etc. But I have no idea what to name it.

I'm looking for a military name (i.e. 5th Special Forces Group)
and a public name (i.e Ghosts) etc. It doesn't matter to me but I'd like the short story to include a cool unit name ;)

If a man is charged with the felony 'driving across state lines to have sex with a minor' would the minor have to testify against him in court if they had already been questioned by the feds?? I'm wondering if they would just use the statements in order to hide the identity of the 'victim' or would they have to go to court. Thanks.

My faincee and I lived at my great grandmother's house. We moved out back in Febraury and she's still been getting mail at her house. I recently saw that she's been opening my mail. I confronted her and asked her why she was, and she said she thought it was for her, but it clearly wasn't. She even put the mail back in the envelope like it wasn't even touched. It was mail from my work and tax revenues. Is this illegal? and what steps can we take in law.

I read about this baby that was born at 27 weeks and weighed less than one pound. She was born in January and is now very healthy. I thought this was crazy. Aren't abortions legal that late in some states?

If both partners genuinely consent to the sex, why would the older person still be charged with rape? I understand the whole "adult should be more responsible" thing, but I just read something about how if a 16 year old marries an adult over the age of 18 with legal consent from her/his parents..the married couple could legally have sex. How does just being married make a difference in the whole thing? Does only the fact that they are married by law mean they can have sex even though the 16 year old is still technically a minor?

Yes, I guess strange times calls for strange logic. Here are some people that say saying we need more terror attacks so people can appreciate the job the president is doing on the war on terror or something like that.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

To save America, we need another 9/11. America's fabric is pulling apart like a cheap sweater. What would sew us back together? Another 9/11 attack.

I recieved an e-mail more than 20 times about Starbucks refusing to send the military coffee. I don't know about any of you but no matter how you feel about the war don't you think a company should support a human being for thier efforts to keep thier company free not to mention yhier employees?
I will no longer be buying any products from this company who has turned thier back on thier fellow Americans!
I have sent this e-mail out to all my contacts and I ask that anyone who wishes to see the e-mail about the Starbucks company e-mail me through here.
And even if you don't want to read the e-mail I would think all americans would stop buying Starbucks products.
In conclusion....OOH RAH!!!

White House wants more time on subpoenas By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer
Sat Aug 18, 12:18 AM ET
CRAWFORD, Texas - The White House on Friday asked a Senate panel for more time to produce subpoenaed information about the legal justification for President Bush's secretive eavesdropping program.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy had set Monday as the deadline for administration officials already subpoenaed to provide documents and testimony about the National Security Agency's eavesdropping program.
In a letter to Leahy, White House counsel Fred Fielding argued that the subpoenas called for the production of "extraordinarily sensitive national security information," and he said much of the information — if not all — could be subject to a claim of executive privilege.
Fielding asked Leahy to suspend the deadline until after Labor Day.

history repeats itself again, yet with another republican president.

cons, this is what you project. deal with it!
