in training for the army, during basic or ait, how many days do you get off for christmas/new year and what days are they? dec20 to jan3 or what? please and thank you.

christmas exodus is dec 23 to jan 2, but i have to pay my own transportation home, correct?

Its called Christmas Exodus. I dont remember the exact dates but I think its two weeks off that you get. It starts right before Christmas and ends I think the day after New Years. Bad times to travel anywhere though.

Depends if you are required to perform any duties, like guard or mess-hall, I served in the military for over 21 years and the single new guys always pulled duties over the holiday period to let the married guys be with their families.

The holidays will be an expence for you to come up with. You will get 1-2 weeks of leave that will be charged to you.

I was in the Air Force and we didn't get any days off for the holidays in basic but in tech school we got one week.

You dont progress at all during Christmas shutdown and you don't get any extra pay for it. Don't go during the holidays serisously.
