No there's no battle .

The elite have a firm grasp on the power.

Most people don't care. As long as they can watch their tv, eat their chips, watch sports or buy handbags then they're cool.

Most people in America are middle of the road and they don't even want to know about anything that interupts that.

The government is doing and can do what ever they want and lie about it.

Do you know what the real deciding factor is?

It's the media.

if NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, CNN NY Times tells them something then they buy it without question and think they are smart and knowledgable on top of it.

They don't know about operation mockingbird. They don't know that the government regulates the media so how is the media going to regulate the government.

So, there is no battle for power although there should be.

No one even knows why they should care about Iraq and they DON'T EVEN QUESTION IT.

They don't question why you don't hear anything about Health or Education on the news or any domestic issues.

It's all Iraq and what crimes have been commited locally. fear fear fear.

There is no battle for power in the U.S., the rich have won! We let them take our jobs out of the country & yet purchase those things produced by others for dirt cheap labor at the same price, if not more, than when we made it. This was done over a matter of time, little by little they moved our livelyhood away, yet still we buy, we may have to go into debt to buy & live so now we not only are making the producers richer but also the banks & credit card companies! We were once one of the few self providers of our own people, now we depend upon others, we are just a nation of consumers! At times. I wonder if this nations people are totally stupid! Believe it or not, you can still buy American shoes, clothing etc. All you have to do it look for them, perhaps they cost a bit more but they last a lot longer! I took the time to look, found American goods & bought them! If enough people would take the time to do the same, perhaps our industry would return & we would have decent jobs again & not have to rely on China to provide slip shod goods to us!

That should be covered by the different policies between the Republicans and the Democrats but I'm not sure that the Democrats will be much different other than trying to take care of each small group with a problem. That really isn't what we need right now.

Many things need to be restored beginning with the normalization of the power between the branches of government, trade policies, immigration, and changes in policies that seem to lean toward enriching the lives of those who don't particularly need it. The people seem to feel powerless about much of anything except exercising their right to complain about it.

No I think the abysmal failure of George Bush and the collapse of the grandiose visions of Karl Rove, Paul Wolfowitz, etc, pretty much proves that this "battle" is a fabrication.

I think the American population is pretty much balanced right now and not in a class war or a cultural war.

However, if the gap continues to widen between rich and poor, I might change my opinion.

No, there is no battle.

The American people have abdicated power to the elite -- the elite have won, and the people are content to allow that victory to stand without further challenge.
