Fines? Your car can get impounded. Your license can get revoked.

Driving is still a privelege, and when we get a license, we assumed all the implied responsibilities.

Hope that you have a lenient cop who will put in a good word for you. Review everything you said and did when stopped.

I guess it is late to say "What were you thinking?"

In California nothing would happen to your license, but you would lose your car for 30 days, along with a fine and all the storage fees.
