to have to report his end-of-year tax payments to the press?

And is this mentioning of it each year supposed to be some kind of assurance to the general public that yes, indeed, the President does have to pay taxes as well as the rest of us?

I don't ever remember the press mentioning Clinton's tax payments each April. But then again, I wasn't watching or listening to the news as often as I do now, back then.

I am so going to get a violation for this; however, what I am going to tell you is true and correct.
1 The resentment against those who look like they came here illegally and got amnesty is going to be worse than what was felt against blacks in the post Civil War Era.
2 Unless a Chicano or other Hispanic appearing person speaks American English without any trace of an accent they and all people who have a marked non American accent are going to be regulated into minimum wage jobs.
3 If you are an American born who does not speak with out that accent then YOU HAD BETTER NEVER EVER QUIT YOUR JOB IF IT IS BETTER THAN MIN IMUM WAGE. You have become a labor serf. Tied to the only job you will ever get with or without an education.
4 The USA which has classes divided by socio-economic levels will have classes now by not skin color but by accents. Today hard work and education can make any individual upward mobile or if you are a lazy bum you can slide down the social scale. From the moment there is amnesty there will be new classes established and they will be darn hard to move between.
5 The Hispanic population is very racists as a general rule. I know because I have lived as a minority all my life in southern NM. When in High School I asked a Chicana out on a date. She said yes but her brothers and their friends beat me bloody when I came to get her.
6. The new Class system may be established not by American Citizens! Think it through the estimates run from 12 to 20 million illegals with the majority of them being Hispanic (Spanish speaking) by 7 of 10. For every one of them who get a free get out of jail card they can bring in as many as 258 relatives under the amnesty program as currently proposed. Let me see.
Best Case 12,000,000 x 258 = 3,096,000,000
Worst Case 20,000,000 x 258 = 5,160,000,000

Even if only 25% of those numbers come : 774,000,000 to a 1,290,000,000 of non Citizens who do not have our language, culture, nor have they contributed to the social services net which they will overload.
The population of American Citizens is estimated to be a little over 300,000,000! What will it do to this country to absorb at a minimum twice that number of people who do not have our culture, language, ethics, or education?
What is the impact on economics, law, culture, and who will assimilate whom?

I was on AOL this morning reading about the Miners and how they have broke through finally.. Anyway I started reading the blog and the comments people were writing. OF course there were those who couldn't hold back and turned this tragedy into a Bush issue. What triggers people to do this? Here's what I have to say to them.

To the Bush bashers on this blog. IS YOUR LIFE SO PATHETIC THAT ALL YOU CAN THINK OF IS HOW EVERYTHING IS PRESIDENT BUSH'S FAULT? GET A LIFE AND REALIZE THAT THIS IS A TRAGEDY NOT AN OPPROTUNITY. These miners families are hurting and all you can think of is how you can turn this on our President. You people should be ashamed of yourself. God Forbid something happen to you that equals to this magnitude, would you honestly want a Nation to take their focus off the real issue or would you rather them find someone to blame before you were even rescued? People really need to think before they speak, I know everyone has heard that expression but more need to live by it. Just because you were given the Freedom of speech DOESN'T mean that you should always use it, Have a little class for heavens sake.

This paints a big target on us every election. We're the party of Sodom and Gomorrah. We erode America's values. We are supported by a bunch of fringe special interest groups.

As a generally Liberal Democrat, I wish the Democrats would quit courting marginals and get back to the business of winning elections. To paraphrase the Lotto ads: "You can't play if you don't win."

Congress proposed raising the gas tax to help raise money to rebuild or repair bridges in America. Wow... that is so shocking... dems knee jerk reaction to everything... raise taxes! President Bush nixed the proposal and asked that they actually do a little homework and look how the billions of dollars that go to our roads and highways are being spent before just throwing more money at the problem. Isn't that what Congress should be doing before hiking up costs on the American people?

Have a simple flat tax rate and everybody pays the same. But put about 100 or 200 little boxes to check about what you want your taxes to pay for. Fire protection - 5%, police - 10%, highways - 10%, national security - 15%, border patrol - 2%, welfare - .1%, bridge grants in alaska - 0%, aid to Darfur - 0%. Just check your boxes until 100% and that's where your dollars go instead of funding the spotted gecko extinction on a deserted Motu in the south Pacific. And I vote to remove troops from Germany, Japan, Korea, Kovovo, and anywhere else. But as long as we are in Iraq, keep bombing for a while and give the Marines a month off with free beer.

I believe:

1.That all unearned income, and all income that does not arise from work, be abolished
2. Since every war imposes on the people fearful sacrifices in blood and money, all personal profit arising from the war must be regarded as treason to the people. So total confiscation of all war profits.
3. nationalization of all trusts
4. profit-sharing in large industries
5. generous increase in old-age pensions
6. communalization of property
7. prohibition of all speculation in land
8. Replace laws that serve a materalist world order.
9. National reorganization of education including college level education
10. National program to improve healtcare.
11. Eliminate political lies that disseminate through the press
12. The creation of a stronger central government

(Please don’t make this question about Bush – Just Answer the question)

The 2008 presidential race is off and running. It is popular to bemoan the lack of qualified candidates in the race. I wholeheartedly disagree. Many of the candidates have much valued experience in business, military and government. In 1984, Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation's most successful venture capital and investment companies. Bain Capital helped launch hundreds of companies on a successful course, including Staples and Domino's Pizza. Like Rudy Giuliani who was mayor (you know, in charge, making decisions, the sole leader, the MAN) of New York City, Romney also has executive experience as Governor of Massachusetts. John McCain was an officer in the military and is the senior senator from Arizona serving since 1987. All three of the declared republican front runners have very thick resumes as you should when applying for the most powerful executive position known to man.
