(Please don’t make this question about Bush – Just Answer the question)

The 2008 presidential race is off and running. It is popular to bemoan the lack of qualified candidates in the race. I wholeheartedly disagree. Many of the candidates have much valued experience in business, military and government. In 1984, Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation's most successful venture capital and investment companies. Bain Capital helped launch hundreds of companies on a successful course, including Staples and Domino's Pizza. Like Rudy Giuliani who was mayor (you know, in charge, making decisions, the sole leader, the MAN) of New York City, Romney also has executive experience as Governor of Massachusetts. John McCain was an officer in the military and is the senior senator from Arizona serving since 1987. All three of the declared republican front runners have very thick resumes as you should when applying for the most powerful executive position known to man.

Imagine if the republican front runner was a new member of congress with no military, business or executive experience. People would rightly challenge his/her lack of credentials. Likewise, suppose the Democrat front runners were Barak Hussein Osama and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Past Presidents;

Bush 2 – Executive experience as twice elected Governor of Texas. Business Experience. Military experience flying Jets in the Guard.

Clinton – Executive experience as Governor of Arkansas.

Bush 1 – Executive experience in Business and as head of the CIA. Served in WW2.

Reagan – Executive experience as Governor of California

Carter – Executive experience as Governor of Georgia. Military experience.

JFK had a thin resume but at least he served in the Military.

Hillary - ? birds chirping……

Obama - ? birds chirping……

Biden and Richardson are very qualified. You are correct. It speaks volumes about the democrat base that this does not matter.

The current list of democratic candidates is not qualified to run a McDonald's. Hillary would fire them all like she did the travel agents. At least the republicans have some qualifications. Hillary and Obama have no experience and neither of them have sponsered any legislation that became a law.

Most of the candidates suck (what else is new?). There are a few of them that I like: Paul, Kucinich, and Gravel. While these three are, by far, the best of the bunch and I like many of their ideas, all three of them have some major flaws in their platforms. I wish I could make a composite candidate, taking the best of those three...
Last election there were a few 3rd party candidates I really liked too, but most are fringe nutjobs. We'll see who they produce this time around. I'll probably go with one of the three I already mentioned though.
Oh well, I just know I definitely WON'T be voting for that gutless, fear-mongering scumbag Giuliani!

Ironically the most experienced democrats vying for the ticket are low in the national rankings.

Which in many cases for democrat Presidential candidates, the less experienced candidates end up carrying less baggage to be used against them (I see a trend here).

As for the Republicans the higher ranked candidates in the polls are very experienced. Any ONE of their resumes ALONE can put a complete blanket on all three of the Democrat front runners.

Good point there PNAC!

Yes lets pick our Prez early so we can get right on to impeaching them before we elect them. Its not like we don't have millions to waste electing short-term candidates.
