I am a non custodial father in texas, I pay for my daughters health insurance. Her mother took her to the doctor and they applied all of the charge to the deductable, so she is saying that I half to pay half of the bill, which i have no problem doing if I am supposed to. Is this right or should she pay it all being that i pay for the insurance

I'm thinking about joining the Navy. I still have another year of high school. I was wondering if the DEP (Delayed Entry Program) would be something to get into first. What are the benefits of it? I want to join because I want to get out of the normal life. I want to make a difference and do something that will benefit everyone. When do I need to talk to a recruiter to be ready for next summer? I want to thank all the Retired Vets and the Men and Women who have already gave their lives for this country. Thanks

Im interested in using images from a book to put on clothing. The author/illustrator will be clearly identified as it will be attached to the clothing. I will be selling the clothes to make a personal profit. Is this legal?

Should you be required to demonstrate that you at least understand the very basics of government and the Constitution before being able to cast a vote?

A very high percentage of the U.S. electorate isn't very well qualified to vote, if by "qualified" you mean having a basic understanding of our government, its functions and its challenges. Almost half of the American public doesn't know that each state gets two senators. More than two-thirds can't explain the gist of what the Food and Drug Administration does.

Yesterday on our local news , they reported that a small plane had flown low over a SE Michigan neighborhood and deposited a white powder over everything . Our local news people are weak at best so the story was very incomplete , but they did have footage of the neighborhood and it was quite clear that a large amount of somewhat chunky white powder was all over everything. The story concluded by saying 'authorities' took samples and will get back to people when they know what it is . Now our local news people aren't generally all that smart nor INQUISITIVE. . Hel-lo. . .They're in the business of asking questions !! Anyways , none of them asked 'What authorities'? Or if the pilot was caught ? Who he was ? What his explanation was ? (assuming it was accidental you'd think the pilot would be more than ready to explain immediately)

Does anyone have a link to the story ? Something more reliable than our 7th grade level reporters out here ?

Can anybody who has been in court (not as the accused though) please advise me on court etiquette? I have to assist a solicitor in court as part of my work-experience and would appreciate a bit of advice from solicitors or barristers or even people who have assisted them in court before so that I don't look absolutely clueless when we start preparations for the trial. I would appreciate real advice and no comments from people just having a laugh please. Thanks

the one parent has every other weekend and one day in the week, what are the legal specifications for those visits? Is the "one day" visit all day and overnight, or is it just supposed to be for a few hours? Is there supposed to be a specific "time of pick up/drop off" for the weekend visits, that is observed on the law?

Considering the Democratic "machine" politics headed by Richard J. Daly in 1960 led to the illegal ballot stuffing in Cook County for JFK on the orders of Joseph Kennedy and Daly, why do Irish Americans not get blamed for the Cuban Missile Crisis, the South Vietnamese coup d'état that led to an assasination, Bill Clinton (JFK worshipper), the 2000 election debacle (Daly's son was Gore's campaign manager) and the Iraq War?

Why have American's forgotten that we are a nation built on our commonality of people. That we are now bent on self and instant gratification vs. helping others at any price, just floors me. Where are the Thomas Paine's of this century! Instead of the lame news media and liberal dribble that is spouting how evil America is. How could Paine's words from The American Crisis be forgotten!
""These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
But then again I remember from history leassons that the Democrats hated Abraham Lincoln too! And as President he trampled the contitution and held poltical prisioners...oh how soon we forget.

Slavery, in it's biblical form is about bad debts. You give an *interest free* loan, they default, you have lost out, and they're your slave. You let them go every seven years, and you sure as heck don't get to keep their children after. Further the bible says umpteen times not to do x, y or z to because you - read the israeli people, or the church(the new israel, it's spiritual inheritors) - were once slaves in Egypt. In the new testament it's true Paul never says a Christain can't holds slaves, but he does remind every slave owner that both master and slave have the same master in heaven, and also declares that he would prefer a slave be freed and be treated like a brother, if people either owe him or Christ for their salvation(or both). The slavery I assume most people are referring to looked nothing like the biblical view. It never uses words like abomination or put to death about people who refuse to take slaves, even if they're entitled. How is this the same? or similar?

My house mate's (longterm) visitor (who is also her sister) called me a monkey, absolutely unprovoked, not that it would excuse it. But she just left the room and said to the landlord 'Bye Brian', bye monkey!' I asked her if she called me that because I'm black, I had to ask a few times for her to finally say no as she wouldn't answer me. I unfortunately told my fiance and now he is very upset and wants me to sue. I myself can ignore a person who calls me a B** or silly words like that, but not a racial slur.

Please advise. (Oh, I'm in England yes, I'm black.) Thank you in advance.

Ok, this is a dead serious question. I want some INTELLIGENT questions, if not some of you to think for five minutes.
Why is it that people have more questions on here and in the real world on TV, about how Bush is an idiot or he is the worst president as opposed to more questions about say how we should want to defeat the enemy? Maybe, how can we WIN (underlined) in Iraq? How WE as a nation can continue to prosper?
Why is this? Why do we have so many citizens that hate our president more than those who want us all DEAD?
Osama bin Laden helped fly a plane into a building, yet Bush is the villan. Saddam Hussein gassed and killed thousands of his own people, yet Bush is a dictator. Sunni(or Shi'ite, I get them confused) extremists are out there blowing themselves up, yet Bush is the murderer?!
Can someone explain to me how there is no hypocracy here? I want to understand why it is that you can condemn a president as "Nero" yet turn a blind eye to those trying to kill us.
