I've looked in the Detroit News and Free Press and neither paper had a thing. My guess is that whoever was responsible for the powder immediately contacted the authorities. Otherwise, there would have been a huge terror alert. Last month, Miami airport was shut down because a small amount of suspicious white powder was found.
Sometimes, the Air Force drops powder, and here is an interesting article that may contain some truth.

a fundamental understand of what terrorism is, its purpose and its method is most helpful to understand.
In the article you mention, lets say that it was an accident that flour was dropped. Terrorist scouts would pick up on that, study the response and use that to exploit an attack of similiar nature.
Terrorist are keen observers, and they do not try to interpret anything. Rather they feed that information back to others who put the bigger picture together. The planners are well insulated from the act, in this case, the plane dropping some powder.
At this point, recruiting of bad guys that we will eventually have to deal with is occurring in our universities, as well as other places like prisons for instance.
According to FBI stats from about 4 years ago, there were 6.? million muslims in this country, of which 2.2 mil were ready to start fighting right now (4 years ago).
probing of how civilians deal with probable attacks is an interesting science. I know of probing being done in the city where I live, and the locals do not understand it for what it is. I called the FBI and reported on such incident that I was an eye witness to, as this should not have happened. I'm sure that the "involved parties wanted to keep it quiet" but I think that is the wrong answer.
We are living in a time when people need to understand that our enemy does not want dialog, they want compliance. Compare them to the Borg of Star Trek if you will, they live for one thing, to make their political/religious laws reality.

I have no doubt they are conducting test runs.
The conducted them prior to 9/11.
The lastest with wrapping cheese with wires and attaching batteries with cell phones attrached the attention of TSA.
The Muslim terrorists also look at our reaction to them.
I am sorry I don't have the link for you.
What it does show me that people don't need to be afraid by be alert.
The Emoms dry run was stop by the passenagers so now the Muslim terrorists know the passenagers are not going to be silent.
Of all the cases of people charging the cockpit door it was the passenagers who stop them.
I can go on about other cases.
I am not saying just because someone is praying you call 9/11 but if that person has what looks like sticks of TNT strap to him.
Yep time to call someone.
The really good news is that polls are showing more and more Muslims are rethinking the idea of terrorism is good for the religion of peace. So I am hopeful too.

sounds strange to me...
...too bad the media is obsessed with the bridge collapse tragedy..seems they "forgot " there is other "news".
I feel for the families and victims but 24 hr coverage peppered with an obsessive NEED to find out (immediately) why this happened//who is to blame...etc is too much 4 me.
OTHER important news stories..such as the one cited- are lost or buried for one more eyewitness, victim or anxious family members story..
I hope this local newspaper will follow-up with a report.
guess white powder from a plane wasn't weird enough to call homeland security..good thing the local cops decided to collect some and hopefully get it to a lab ...

It does sound suspicious. They may be doing a dry run, or they may be trying to make us nervous enough to jump at anything. Whatever the truth, if they ever really try to do anything substantial here I think the American people will kick some butt if they have proof positive that someone doing something detrimental to our country.

Not only do I find the sound of rain relaxing BUT I like the smell of rain. I also think the sound of rain in the night helps set the mood; nothing like making love with your gf all nigh when you hear it raining outside. It's romantic.

I"d take it that the "authorities" would mean the police and that it has to be sent to a lab for analysis, and after the analysis they will all know what it is. There really can't be much more to the story till they find out what it is.

I heard about that too. It sounds mighty suspicious to me. I hope they find the pilot and the plane, and get to the bottom of this.
PS Is this the story?
