If we build a soccer field that kids play in, it shows things are progressing and that we should be there ...right?

But if a school bus full of kids going to the soccer field is blown up, then it also shows that we should be there...right??

Ok so heres me and my friends situation.
We went on a trip and on the way back, some one passed us while going 100+ mph on a 2-lane one-way road. That car eventually lost control like a 100 feet away and started to flip and roll and because there was dirt, it created a mini dust storm. everyone infront of us slowed down and so we slowed down too. While we were slowing down, a car behind us goin at like 80 mph didnt notice. He swerved out of the way of our car but because he didnt want to fly off, he swerved back in and hit us with the back left of his car. our bumper did fall off on one side and there is only a dent on one side. Also, his back tire area kinda got damaged but its like super-glueable.. so is this an arguable case? cuz the cop we had only tended the other accident and so he said that since our words were the same, he wont give us a police report.

Denying subpoenas is tantamount to admitting guilt in this case. If he and his aides did nothing wrong, then he has NO reason to refuse to let them testify. But he is refusing, so he ADMITS guilt in the case. If he has nothing to hide, (the same arguement Bushco uses to justify domestic spying and the PAT ACT), then he should let them talk.

I read an answer which highlighted America as the greatest democracy in the world. I was wondering if this is a view many Americans or anyone else for that matter shares.
After all American is only a two party state compared to many European countries which employ proportional representation or have elections open to any party.
It took America a couple of decades longer than Britain and had to fight a civil war before they abolished slavery.
Theres never been a female president. America is still very much classist, the gap between the rich and poor is immense.
It is much harder to migrate, for what ever reason, to the US than many European countries.
Do Americans really believe that there the greatest democracy ever?

My boss is giving me a hard time because I'm unable to go to a 5 day long corporate business meeting (lectures and boozing...2000 miles away), because I have 2 very important doctor's appointments that week. She's insisting that I reschedule these appointments so that I can attend the meeting, but I was on a 3 month long waiting list for one of the appointments, and I'm not about to jeopardize my health to wait another couple weeks or so to get in, and I shouldn't have to. Needless to say, she's pissed, and is coming to my store tomorrow to "talk" with me. I won't cave, but I just have this feeling that she'll try to make me feel like I should put work before health. She's not an understanding person whatsoever.
What are the laws against this type of treatment? And can anyone direct me to a website that state these laws? Can I sue the company if I get an ultimatum? Thanks for your help.

-He's a career politician (professional liar).
-He's a former Bush cabinet member (all habitual liars)
-If he admitted to a cover up the rest of his life would be ruined.
- And he would do anything to protect President Bush/Cheney.

Hi, I recently moved into a ground floor flat, the landlord owns the whole building. There's a fire escape which comes down into a small communal yard which is outside our living room window, and kitchen door. Our housemate has seen a rat there during the daytime (I heard this was a bad sign and might mean there are quite alot nearby?) The lease says nothing about who's responsibility pests would be, but I'd think it'd be in the landlord's best interests to get rid of rats because of the damage they could do. Is there any kind of law that says rats in communal areas are the landlord's responsibility to get rid of or that they have to get rid of them to provide decent living conditions? The landlord seems a bit old and confused and also rather stingey so I'm just asking this incase we explain about the rat and he doesn't do anything.

How come when I was a recruiter kids would always come up to me and say "I'm not gonna join the Army I dont wanna die"
Why dont they put that much thought into drinking and driving?

You dont want your kid to join the military cause he might die yet you let them drive?

I stayed at the Ayres Suites this past weekend and not to my knowledge I was staying in a non smoking room. My door did not have the sign on the front that said non smoking it seemed like every other door had one so assumed it was fine.
Three days later I was charged for smoking in a non smoking room.
125 dollars.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find like a set fee for that or laws on that. When I checked in a signed my receipt and they told me that when I signed that that I signed for no smoking and no pets but I dont remember reading that.
If anyone knows where I can find the laws or fees for that please let me know.

I mean, if you take a close look at almost every thing our national leaders favor or every major law they pass, it seems to run smack against whats best for the majority of the people in this country or just outright against whats best for the country. why is that?

Personally, I'm against it. It gives off the illusion that you have to follow god to be a moral person when in reality morality is not dependent on religion.

I think that they should be taken down from public places and displayed in the homes of people who want to see them and in churches.

I'm interested to think what soldiers who have served (or are currently serving) in Iraq think about the war. Also, what political party do you usually vote with?

For myself, I've always thought the war was a bad idea, but we might be in worse trouble if we just pull you guys out.

Good luck and keep safe.
