I stayed at the Ayres Suites this past weekend and not to my knowledge I was staying in a non smoking room. My door did not have the sign on the front that said non smoking it seemed like every other door had one so assumed it was fine.
Three days later I was charged for smoking in a non smoking room.
125 dollars.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find like a set fee for that or laws on that. When I checked in a signed my receipt and they told me that when I signed that that I signed for no smoking and no pets but I dont remember reading that.
If anyone knows where I can find the laws or fees for that please let me know.

Insist that they send you a copy of what you signed before paying any additional fees, and if they billed your credit card, you should contact your credit card company and dispute that additional charge.

If there were no signs indicating that the room (or the entire hotel) was non-smoking, you certainly have a valid cause for disputing it.

Good luck, and don't let them get away with it without a fight!

I don't think there is a set fee. It depends on the hotel.

You should check next time very carefully that you are signing for the type of room you want.

Most places actually charge $150, at least the nicer hotels like Marriot do.
