He's got it half right. We need to go after the Al Qiada safe haven in the Pakistan mountains but I just came from Iraq and we have a job to finish there. Part of that job is forcing their government off it's *** and doing for themselves.

Apparently, he wants to expand the war to include a country that is our ally.
What such a simplistic view fails to understand is the trickiness of invading a friendly country to attack an enemy hiding there. It ignores the very real possibility of a general uprising that could overthrow Musharraf, and who knows who would end up in charge, with nuclear weapons available!
Then you have the unilateral aspect of it, all for one person, in complete dismissal of the rest of the war on terror. Yo, Barack, this isn't an international police hunt for Osama, it is a global war against terrorism. Let's not lose focus here!
The amusing aspect of this is that he is espousing a policy that his supporters and the rest of the Democrats roundly criticized Nixon for, when he attacked the North Vietnamese who were staging their attacks from Cambodia.
Maybe he should just keep his piehole shut and let people who understand things, like Condoleezza Rice, handle it.

Obama is right, but I would spell it out more completely, and
it sounds like what we should have done back in 2003. Certainly we have to go back to Afghanistan if we hope to stop the terrorist that are operating across the border in Afghanistan.
However, we need to bring these current soldiers home for rest and recovery. Did you read the story in the San Francisco Chronicle about Military spouse miss treating their children by inattention and absence from the kids?
We need an Army of the new Soldiers who will begin their training in the near future. And we know where they have to go and have to train for starting as soon as possible.
If America had any real sense we would reinstate the draft and let every family know that we all share the burden of War.
Good Question, thanks.

He's going to find that hard to do as a single senator.
Or do you seriously think he has a shot at the White House?
Okay, so how dumb do you have to be to propose we pull troops out of a war zone and invade an ally?

I figure we ought to pay a team of mercinaries to take out Osama.
give em the right gear, give em like...say 300 million dollars to pay for expenses,n if they come back with his head,we give em 700 million extra.
O,and if the pakistani government finds out,we deny they're existance completely.

I think he knows that since the people we should be going after are moving to the next "unstable area" we should focus on ending Al Quedia and their leader Osama Bin Ladin.

pretty much disregard his statements as he will never get to a place where they would be implemented.
Ya gotta get elected first and that ain't gonna happen. His campaign strategy isn't going to win the popular vote. Oh, he will get the vote of welfare state and no one else. So it goes...

I'm all for it, no matter WHO does it. But I'm glad Obama's one of the first to come out and say it's a good idea.
