We have no idea how long, because there is no finish line defined. We have no definition of what "complete" or "win" would mean, so we cannot measure progress towards it.
By any reasonable estimate, if we "stay the course" until Iraq is completely stable, we'll be there for between 15 and 30 years.
And as for "next" -- politicians won't wait until that's done, and we'll just keep over-extending our troops until they collapse.

The Koran calls upon all good Muslims to fight against foreign occupiers on Muslim soil. There are over 400 million Arab Muslims. So long as the U.S. occupies Iraq, Al Qaeda will very successfully recruit more and more fighters. The mission to end Al Qaeda through occupation is futile. Especially since the true Al Qaeda is in Pakistan.

It will neve be completed, they will move on eventualy leaving the country in ruins and distract the amercian public with another country like Iran. It is the same tactic they used in afhganistan, and now al queda is back in the region. I really doubt the Bush administration cares about going after terrorist

I thought we hit "Mission Accomplished" something like four years ago, didn't we? Our president SAID we did.
Honestly, I don't know what "completing" our mission in Iraq would even look like, nor have our leaders ever described the end game to us, which makes it somewhat difficult to achieve. As for your other question--I pray that no other country IS best. The USA does best when we don't try to police other people against their will. I seriously do not want to see us become another USSR.

The current mission? Or the new ones that they are dreaming up. How about the humitarian aid for the starving Iraqi children (thanks WHO for opening that possibility) or the protect American interests in Iraq (patrol the pipeline). Next country... It will be the first one without Nukes that also has plunderable resources.

To your first question I answer when the US has won and that will be NEVER .
To your second question:
Canada is next country the US will "screw" around with because the US needs to desperately get their hands on our HUGE oil reserves (FOR THEIR GAS GUZZLING suvS) and our absolutely incredibly large amout of FRESH WATER .
It will start as Americans alway start with the demonization and vilification of Canadians for not being a CHRISTIAN NATION UNDER GOD and sharing our bounty.
Being somewhat socialist, the US President as many Presidents before him have done will simply lie and call us FILTHY COMMUNIST that need to be destroyed.
Based upon their ACTUAL PAST HISTORY,Americans will swollow this swill and DO THEIR DUTY !!!!
Next the US President will advise Americans and the world that in his/her conversations with GOD ,God has authorized waging war with Canada and the American people will lap this up as a cat does milk .(Remember how Bush told us GOD blessed his decision to war against Iraq which went over big in the BILLION plus Muslim world) .
Finally the US President will solemnly tell Americans that it is THEIR PATRIOTIC DUTY to go NORTH and slaughter a least as many INNOCENT CIVILIAN Canadians as BUSH's atrocity in Iraq slaughtered which to-date is over 400,000 .
It is instructive to remember that the famous Samuel Webster once said :
" THE LAST REFUGE OF A SCOUNDREL IS PATRIOTISM"

we are NOT leaving Iraq. Bush is building an 800 billion dollar embassy there (the largest in the world) and one of the U.S. air bases there is the second busiest in the world. Does that sound like there are plans to pull out??? ever???

It'll take less than two years after Hillary takes over and brings the troops back. I just hope the death toll of soldiers doesn't explode in numbers like it has since 03.

This is no "complete" to this mission. That was never in the big plan. My quess would be Iran. Though probably another very bad plan.
