If we build a soccer field that kids play in, it shows things are progressing and that we should be there ...right?

But if a school bus full of kids going to the soccer field is blown up, then it also shows that we should be there...right??

There was no good reason for the US/UK invaision. Tens of thousands of people, including thousands of children, have been killed for no good reason. No amount of soccer fields will change that fact.

the US is in Iraq to protect the price of oil...that is.... to keep it from being driven down by someone else getting in there and pumping it out too fast......AND the US gov't can't find a way out because when we do get out (and we will, without the situation getting any better) the US will take a huge hit in global power, prestige, influence and the value of the dollar. The hit is too huge to make the move, now, but the longer we're there the worse it will get.....it's worse than a catch 22. It's the worst foreign policy blunder in American history made by the worst vice president in American history...not to mention the moron living in the White House.

Absolutely not. No matter what happens there, failure in Iraq is a threat to this country. It doesn't matter if 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 soldiers die, we are making progress. It doesn't matter if 500,000, 1,000,000 or 1,500,000 Iraqis die, we are making progress. We are spreading democracy!!! Hooray!!!!! I mean seriously, the Iraqis must be so happy that Bush freed them from Saddam. Now they are living in such a free country with absolutely no problems at all. I was thinking of going to Disney World for Christmas but now I'm going to book a tour of Iraq since it is so free and safe now.

If Russia or China invade the U.S., creating social upheaval and ruin.... and then built a baseball diamond and taped kids coming out to use it... this would not constitute proof that those invading countries are where they should be.

Our troops have no business being in Iraq....Their mission [to topple saddam] is over. Iraq should be protecting itself against the terrorist it breeds. Our troops should not be losing their lives just because GWB doesn't want to admit his invasion on Iraq turned out to be a bigger problem than he expected.

And vice versa. If it's good and they show it, it's propaganda. If it's bad, it's proof its wrong to be there.

Both ways. You're starting to catch on to the realities of political bigotry.
