I'm interested to think what soldiers who have served (or are currently serving) in Iraq think about the war. Also, what political party do you usually vote with?

For myself, I've always thought the war was a bad idea, but we might be in worse trouble if we just pull you guys out.

Good luck and keep safe.

I served over there in 03-04... Personally I dont like the fact we are there, but I would rather our soldiers be there fighting terrorism, then fighting the terrorist if they come here... I think if we pull out of Iraq, it will create even more chaos over there, and then the entire middle east would look at us being the cause...

There are so many ways to argue this issue... My brother and I have been arguing the whole "pull out/stay in" thing for the past few days.... The problem is, either way you look at it, pulling out is wrong and so is staying there, but it can also be right to pull out and right to stay there..... Many reasons that support both sides of the fense... Like I said, id rather see us stay there and try to get things up and running....

As for political party... I tend to lean towards Republican, but I vote for whoever hold my interests... If a Democrat seems to be the better choice, I vote Democrat.... If the decision is 50/50 between both parties, then I would vote Republican.. Only because while I was in the Army, I noticed Republicans doing more for the military, than the Democrats did... i.e. funding to replace faulty equipment, pay raises...

I'm with Dan on this one, and my views from my own personal experience there are about the same as his. There's no question as to which party put their money where their mouths were in terms of support, funding, and raises, however, where the military's concerned--and it's one of several reasons why most of the military always has been and still is mostly conservative.

Having been to Iraq myself during OIF 1 and having been an intelligence analyst, I know full well who the players are and what's at stake, as well as the history leading up to this point and the likelihood of what will happen one way or the other, depending on what we do. I don't believe going to war was the best idea, nor was it handled well at the beginning; but that does not negate what we are doing there NOW, nor what's at stake if we flake out and leave prematurely. Most soldiers I know of, who have been involved in this war, regard civilians back home as being a bunch of idiots, mostly interested in this war only for their own petty political interests. The war itself is used as a convenient rallying cry to win support of people who feel inconvenienced by a war they've been "forced" to watch on TV for the last few years. Winning a petty political victory back home is not worth millions of Iraqi lives, nor the potential for even more instability in that region, and it isn't right.

If they are serving in Iraq they don't really have the time to answer your question they'd rather be on line with family and Friends.

Are they being paid by using the Dem/libs? in basic terms curious and that's a valid question. look, once you examine in for the militia that's quite voluntary. no it is easy to make you examine in. whilst those infantrymen examine in, they comprehend there's a possiblity they could could desire to bypass to conflict. 346 isn't that many militia individuals. they are going to could desire to return up with alot better than that to get anyones interest. whether you do no longer help the conflict, you're able to assist our troops!

I doubt that you're going to get many responses from active duty troops. They have directives not to do that sort of thing.
