THANK YOU! Yes, they do!!! I asked this question a couple of months ago with nothing but asinine answers from closed-minded libs.
I think they are using it as a scare tactic!

Absolutely not. George Bush is the President of the United States. How is saying that someone will follow the same path as a two term president trying to create fear? Well, in this case maybe. However, McCain has gone out of his way to embrace he Bush policies, e.g. sustain the tax cut giveaway and appoint more RWNC justices to the Supreme Court. Since McCain is RUNNING on the Bush record of borrow and spend tax giveaways and more divisiveness regards social issues - pointing that out is not fear-mongering.

Well, Alaska used to have a pretty temperate climate - who's fault was it that the Ice Age came along?
The Great Lakes were formed by glaciers - who's fault was it that those glaciers melted?
Yes, the left uses it as a major scare tactic. What really cracks me up is the idiots like Laurie David (a Hollyweird freak) who screams at people for driving SUVs, but flies around in a private jet.
LOL I also loved that "Vote or DIE" campaign that Mtv promoted before the 2004 election, and the fact that the threat of the draft was being tossed around on the left - how is that *not* fear mongering? And then *who* proposed the draft? A DEMOCRAT!!
Liberals would be hilarious if they weren't serious....

Absolutely, it is fear-mongering to elicit the response of shutting-down industry and installing more governmental control over our lives. Global Warming is and always has been a neo-Marxist political movement. It is not science but politics using scientific claims as a a political tool.
Europe has already fallen for it in the UNs Kyoto protocols, but Europeans are used to intervention in their lives, from being bailed out in wars to socialist controlled governments, the Europeans already accept the Nanny-State mentality which is exactly what the Global Warming movement's ultimate goal is.
Can you imagine for a moment the Carbon Credit policy that Gore wants to establish? You get your quota of energy. Once you run out of your monthly allotment you would have to buy more credits from someone not using them. How does that work for the poor? Al and his brethren would have all the wheelbase to buy as much credits as they like but the middle class family who lives paycheck to paycheck will spend the last week of the month in darkness. But wait the Socialist superhero will sweep in and setup a "fairness" policy and then everyone will be on equal footing, and live the last week of the month in darkness. Except for the Aristocracy of course because that's how it works in socialist systems. The aristocracy doesn't succumb to the rules meant for the proletariat.
And the funny thing is none of these measures will have any effect of the environment. None Zero it is just another way to control man.

Yes they wish to strike fear into the hearts and pocketbooks of industry that doesn't wish to clean its smokestacks and its chemicals, and its mercury and its particulates. Who cares about global warming, lets breath, and eat foods that aren't treated with legal poisons, grown in ground tainted with runoff from cattle ranches.
Its not global warming and its attached political bugaboos, its the stuff in the air, water and ground that we need to discuss and clean up. Trust me, we will be arguing about man or nature in regard to Global warming for years, we know about what those chemicals in our ecosystems are doing, but in all the global warming wrangling, its getting lost.

The pentagon came out with a report that stated that global warming represents more of a threat to US security than terrorism -- is the pentagon liberal?

Obviously.
Or, at least, they are just as 'guilty' of doing so over global warming as the republicans are of doing so over terrorism.
It could also be that both sincerely believe that thier respective boogeymen are real threats.

why, because both sides really believe in what they are saying.
dick cheney really thinks the next attack is coming any day now.
both sides may be right.

No. For one thing, scientists worldwide have got statistics, charts, and graphs to support the likelihood of global warming, and are offering relatively simple, non-violent solutions that can help fix the problem. The fear of terrorism is a fear of random and immediate death.

Well when you know that there is actually nothing you can do about the growing sun and the cycles of it. certainly they are doing something...but mostly I think that it is a way for those in power to pull more money out of your back pocket and put it into their pockets. Right in plain sight. They think the everyone is so stupid as to believe it. I am beginning to think they are right.
Its one of those ...do gooder thingies...
