I got alot of, "The police shoyld be called on you" "police take so long to respond to calls, because they are always busy with YOU PEOPLE" Texas is as racist as you can get. I live on a 99% white nieghborhood, I drive a 2006 Lexus. When I go to my local Krogers (about 2 blocks from my home) I get very ugly looks from the elderly white shoppers. The cheif of police lives directly across from me. Every other day a police officer is at my door saying, "the boss sent me" (pointing across the street at my neighbor). He calls the police and tells them to ask me to remove my mail from my mailbox because its sticking out! Thats how serious it it! I want to know your honest opinion, do you think racism and racial profiling still exists? And to what extent I would like to show this to my professor. All reacist and ignorant comments welcome. It just further helps me prove my point. Thanx!

I am doing a speech tomorrow on "Pro Illegal Immigration" in my speech class because I feel we benefit more as a society rather than it "hurting" us....I already have found some scientific studies as proof, I just could use some more solid reasons, thanks!

For most of this country's history anti-semites were most numerous in the upper-crust of society 'No Jews Allowed' was the policy in the clountry clubs and 'good' private schools. No self-respecting debutante would date a Jewish boy, etc, as the majority of Jewsh people made their living as small merchants, brokers, and regular working people, dealing with lower classes of society. They even supported civil rights for 'the negroes', for goodness sake, how awful! They had one advantage that other minorities didn't however. They could 'pass'; a simple change of name and many were indistinquishable from the anglo population. Also over time they got money, which allowed them to build their own infrastructure and buy their way into the blue blood ranks. Now a strange thing has occured, when the charge of 'anti-semite' is hurled, it's usually at people on the left, mostly for criticism of Israel. What caused the falling out between these traditional allies?

What does this mean? How is it linked to Iraq?
The senate just passed a bill giving students and families billions in new aid, and it's lenders. Kennedy is especially proud of this higher education bill, it's because he says he knows thousands of kids in Massachusetts miss out on college every year because they can't afford it. And many of those who go, rack up so much debt they can't pursue public service careers with modest salaries.
And Kennedy says it's the military families in Massachusetts he thinks about when he votes to bring troops home.
It is," said Kennedy. "Well, it's a very powerful issue. People feel very strongly. It's the issue of life and death for these families."http://wbztv.com/local/local_story_201221338.html

Forty years after his brother opposed the Vietnam war, Senator Ted Kennedy is speaking just as stridently against another unpopular conflict.
What, does he mean John?http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/07/07/19/10140345.html

I have seen sicko lately and, as a Canadian living in the US for the past 10 years, was impressed by the movie.
I have seen the 2 sides and think the Canadian system is better overal. I understand the claim many americans say why they are scared to the idea of having a Universal Healthcare system provided by the gvt like in the UK or Canada. That's part of the culture and since we have several huge Health Care Insurance companies trading on the stock market, changing this equation will make them suddenly irrelevant hence big changes and lots of people yelling.
However, I have personally no problem with bringing universal healthcare here, but that's my personal opinion.
But one thing I do believe is the need for Healthcare Insurance not to be money driven. These corporations should be non profit organizations and need to provide a statement of their accounting to show how efficient (how much overhead) they incurred. What's your opinion on such proposition?

The President made clear which side of health care progress he's on when he recently stated his intention to veto a Senate bill to increase funds for the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The bipartisan bill proposes to put another $35 billion over five years into a program designed to help families who cannot afford health insurance but earn too much to qualify for Medicaid. “When you expand eligibility, you're really beginning to open up an avenue for people to switch from private insurance to the government," says Bush.
Listening to the President, you just have to ask: What is so damn holy about insurance companies? Should their profits always take precedence over children's health needs?
But what's an extra $35 billion over five years for children's health when compared to the $8.4 billion a month the Iraq war now costs the United States? Indeed, the $5 billion SCHIP currently receives annually in federal funds equals only about three weeks of the war's costs.

Otherwise he might have gotten 30 million or so Americans killed. Right?
